Boston Manor – Sundiver

Boston Manor will release new album Sundiver on September 6 through SharpTone Records.

Frontman Henry Cox said: “Sundiver is the culmination of two years work and four years of planning. Going into the pandemic we knew our next record would be a double album released in two parts, the first a short shadowy-noiry electronic record set over one night and the second a sprawling rock record that documents the following day.

“Both albums are products of their environments, we made Datura in the dead of winter in a windowless studio complex that mostly just produced techno, we’d enter before the sun rose and leave long after it set, basically never seeing sunlight.

“We made Sundiver in Welwyn Garden City over two summers, we barbecued every day & would walk across the road to a meadow and just take naps in the sunshine when we weren’t recording.

“We’ve essentially been working on this album and building up to it since the pandemic. We were obsessed with trying to make a record that felt like blistering sunshine, or that wavy/hazy horizon you get when the pavement is super hot, but we didn’t want it to sound “happy” or “major key”.

“Sundiver is by far Boston Manor’s best and most ambitious record to date, and we couldn’t be happier with it, I really hope our fans love it as much as we do.”

Graphic Nature – Who Are You When No One is Watching?

Graphic Nature will release new album Who Are You When No One is Watching? on July 12 through Rude Records!

Vocalist Harvey Freeman said: “It’s the idea of your true self showing through.

“We all put on a mask around our friends and colleagues, pretending to be someone. And then when we come home, that’s our true personality. Or, on the flipside of it, it’s the fakeness of pretending to be someone that’s likable and nice, but who also does horrific things. There are many different ways to take it. It’s really just who you are.”

Lyrically, it’s a journey through a lot of different emotions I’ve personally been through in the space of 12 months,” he explains.

How I dealt with that was to write it onto paper and to put it into the songs. It’s my way of saying, ‘I’m not doing so good, here’s some shit I went through, here’s how I felt about it, here’s some things that have then come off the back of that.’ It’s really just about how everything can stem from one bad day in your life.”

Uzumaki – Waded

Uzumaki will release their debut album Waded on September 13 through Everything Sucks Music.

Vocalist and guitarist Alex Cheung explains: “It’s so fitting for us to release Scenes of Beauty first. It was always positioned first in the demo track listing, so in a way it felt like the natural introduction to the feel of the album for all of us.

“With that in mind, we wanted to create the music video ourselves, channeling the type of visuals coined by our influences, which feel true to how we ‘see’ the songs in the record. We’ve always thought of Scenes of Beauty as a summer song, so we’re so happy to be releasing it right now.

“Tom is amazing at capturing the sound of the room, keeping a realness to the recording which is so often lost these days. The demos for this album were very complete, with bells and whistles already locked in, so the recording session was less about the crafting of the songs than it was about capturing the natural energy of us playing the songs for real.”

Aaron Stainthorpe said: “This is not a side project. It’s a new touring and recording band, and with Forever We Burn, our debut studio album, we’re showing our love for all things gothic and grand, along with a collective belief that dark music doesn’t have to be confined to the shadows.

“The band has been lurking in the shadows, developing, growing, and evolving, and is now ready to unveil its own brand of darkness to the world. Skating the lines between metal, gothic rock and dark synth pop, High Parasite is here, and death pop is born!”
