Credit: Errick Easterday
156/Silence will release new record From a Distance through Pure Noise Records on September 4.
Guitarist and songwriter Jimmy Howell said about singing choruses and hooks after People Watching: “It went so well that we decided to double down on that.”
From a Distance also features guest appearances from the likes of Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada, Alex Reade of Make Them Suffer, and Tony Castrati of Crippling Alcoholism, who add some stunning vocals.
“I look toward bands we love that grew with their listeners, like Thrice and Bring Me The Horizon,” Howell said.
“They have a sound, but they grow and change. Some bands are comfortable repeating the same thing again. I don’t want to do that. I want to make you feel the way you do when you hear one of those important bands, without sounding like them.”

Boston Manor – Be Nothing

Credit: Niall Lea
Boston Manor will be re-issuing their debut album Be Nothing on August 14 through Pure Noise Records.
The album will come with a number of acoustic versions of tracks on the debut record, which was a huge hit with critics and fans.
Bassist Dan Cunniff said: “For me; writing and recording Be Nothing. was one of the most exciting things we had done at that time. Doing the “band thing” for many years previous to Boston Manor, I’d always wanted to be involved in writing a full length record but never had the opportunity to do it properly. So by the time the opportunity came round, I felt like we were all hyper focused on what we wanted to achieve and also keeping in mind what this record would sound like in 10 years from that point.
“That being said; I think we achieved our goals with Be Nothing. because I believe this record holds up even today 10 years on. The record did more than we thought it would do for us. It opened up so many doors, especially in the touring world. Having the opportunity to travel all around the world because of one record is pretty insane!
“Off the back of the release we announced Boston Manor’s first ever UK/EU headline tour (which we were shi**ing ourselves over btw) and to our amazement the shows all sold out. And I feel like at that point it was only the beginning for our band. be nothing. gave us the confidence that we can be a “real” band after all.
“Standout song for me has to be Lead Feet (Corner Piece). It was one of the first demos we made for the record and going through the process it taught us a lot about song writing and structure. We thought it’ll be a nice touch to put some lyrics in the bridge from our very first EP “Here/Now”. It was a nod to how far we’ve come from recording our first EP.”

Westside Cowboy – It Goes on

Westside Cowboy will release debut album It Goes on through Island Records on August 21.
The band said: “Put simply, we wanted to make an album for our younger selves, one that reminds us of all the bodies of work that made us fall in love with music. We wanted the music to be instant, concise, and honest to us as people today.
“There will be plenty of time in the future for the sprawling triple album with horns and string sections but for now, it’s young music made by some young(ish) people. We want to make songs that are lean and imperfect. We’re really proud of it and we hope that you enjoy it.”

President – Blood of Your Empire

Credit: Jonathan Weiner
President will release debut album Blood of Your Empire on September 4 through Atlantic Records.
President said: “Blood Of Your Empire was born out of my own struggle with existential crisis and trying to make sense of belief, mortality, and humanity’s relationship with faith.
“Religion has inspired incredible compassion, purpose, and beauty in the world — but it has also been responsible for unimaginable suffering and bloodshed throughout history. This album lives in the tension between those two truths. Writing it became a way for me to confront the fear, confusion, and questions I’ve carried for years, and turn them into something I’m truly proud of.”

Allt – Ataraxia

Credit: Olle Petterson
Allt will release new album Ataraxia on July 31 through Century Media Records.
The band said: “With Ataraxia, we wanted to write from the place we actually live in, not an ideal version of it. The album is about the search for peace, but also about the parts of you that resist it. We’ve all experienced moments where you know what would be better for you, but
something in you pulls in the opposite direction. That tension became a central part of the writing.”

New Day
Omertà
Nevermind
Enemy

Frozen Crown – The Legend of the Six Kings

Credit: Raoul Noise
Frozen Crown will release new album The Legend of the Six Kings on October 2 through Napalm Records.
The band said: “With our sixth album—our second on Napalm Records—we continue our search for the quintessential FROZEN CROWN tune, distilling the key elements of our sound and style into increasingly concise and straightforward songs, stripping away all unnecessary frills.
“The Legend of the Six Kings draws directly from our debut album The Fallen King, continuing the saga of the Kings and the Tyrant, as we are—thanks to a brilliant newly extended team—finally able to do justice to what we had in mind with the original concept of the band.
“The visionary genius of Raoul Noise (the video maker behind all our new videos and band photos), the masterful craftsmanship of Daria Gislon (who designed and built the throne and the literal ‘frozen crown’) and of course the outstanding artistic talent of Sheila Franco (who hand painted our album cover art) gave life to the vibrant, obscure, frozen world we had in mind since the very beginning of the band, somewhere between J. R. R. Tolkien’s harmonious and regal aesthetics and Robert E. Howard’s brutality.
“The Legend of the Six Kings brings not only new visuals, but also an empowered sound, with the young war hearts getting older on the battlefield and becoming an increasingly leading force of the Crown (with drummer and multi-instrumentalist Niso Tomasini becoming a more integral part of the songwriting together with singer Giada ‘Jade’ Etro and mastermind Federico Mondelli) and new warriors joining our ranks (Aleksandra Stamenkovic and her scorching, old school, abrasive guitar leads).
“This sixth album depicts the strength of our six band members, and our personal idea of Power Metal infused in ten catchy tracks touching the most varied nuances of the genre, from raw and uncompromising Speed Metal, to the sumptuous magniloquence of Symphonic Metal, to the occasional linear chaos of Melodic Death Metal, but always sounding as FROZEN CROWN as ever!”
