Ricky Warwick will release new album Fire & Vengeance on September 4 through Earache!
Ricky said: “I wanted to make an album that captures everything I love about rock’n’roll – its power to bring people together, to make us dance and connect with one another, even in a world that often feels consumed by fire and vengeance. At its core, this record is about finding hope and unity in the chaos.
“A huge thank you to Phil Collen, Doug Aldrich, Charlie Starr and Darren Holden for bringing their musical talent to this record. I was also honoured to work on all of the songs with my good friend Keith Nelson once again – if you think we played all of our cards on my last album, ‘Blood Ties’, think again!
“I’m not one of those guys who needs to disappear into a cabin in the mountains with all this fancy gear.
“All I need is a room and a guitar, and the ideas come. It’s a working-class thing, something I had instilled in me when I was a kid.”

Eric Stenman said: “Everyone has heard of the sophomore slump.
“Making a second album can be a fraught process full of overthinking and self-doubt. Perhaps, the benefit of us starting this band, at this later point in our lives, relieves some of that pressure. This felt so easy, and is a seamless continuation of whatever we started with the first batch of song — just bigger and better.”

Evil Island – Terraform the Afterlife

Evil Island will release debut album Terraform the Afterlife on August 14 through Blowed Out Records.
Vocalist Johnny Whitney said: “Evil Island was born out of the firestorm of creative energy that Cody, Mark and I felt when The Blood Brothers reunion tour ended in 2024. My brain was on fire, I was gripped with a kind of mania. I had so many ideas rattling around in my skull that if I didn’t make something new with my friends, the psychic damage probably would’ve manifested as some exotic form of cancer.
“I knew our story wasn’t over. More importantly, I knew our particular strain of feral pop hardcore felt more necessary than ever given that the world is boiling in bullshit. So we wrote eleven songs, brought Ross Robinson into the fold, then Autry joined the band, and suddenly everything locked into place.
“With Terraform the Afterlife, we let Ross completely off the leash. What was supposed to be a two-week recording session turned into a five-month descent into something far bigger than we imagined. We built a musical world that’s dazzling, violent, joyful, ugly, melodic, brutal and somehow still coherent. We put every drop of ourselves into this record. Terraform the Afterlife is the most creatively gratifying thing I’ve ever been part of, these songs will be fucked into my skull forever.”

Meryl Streek will release new album Stories They Don’t Teach You in School on October 9, through Venn Records.
The album features lead single Rotten Fruit which guests Steve Ignorant from Crass!
Speaking on the album, Steve said: “It’s kick in the arse and a smack in the face, this album does what politicians don’t – tell the truth” – and that is exactly what this new album does. ‘Stories They Don’t Teach You At School’ taps into life lessons and the harsh realities of living in modern Ireland. According to Streek, “we’re not pre-warned about issues like depression, addiction, homelessness and cost of living. These are matters we’re forced to deal with later in life, with zero preparation”.

Jamie Lenman – Puke
Jamie Lenman will release new album Puke on August 6.
Lenman said: “I made this album completely by accident and really, it’s not an album, although it is unified by the fact that nothing took more than a day to make, and I didn’t do more than three takes of anything. That method lends itself to a punkier, more aggressive sound, so it does have a certain accidental cohesion. I spent a lot of time really crafting my last album, and this is a response to that process.
“I did the first couple of tracks with Luke Pickering just for fun, purely because he invited me to the studio, and then later I discovered that one of my heroes (Dick Crippen, bass player for seventies punks Ten Pole Tudor) had a place just down the road, so I more or less booked the session just so I could meet him and then I had to bring some songs to justify that.
“By that time I was enjoying it so much that I would end up finding a studio and/or an engineer wherever I was, just to give myself some time to experiment or to make a connection. So one of the tracks I did in Birmingham whilst visiting a friend, one I did in a studio next to my house that I didn’t previously know existed, just for the craic and to see what would happen. And by the time I had a handful, I realised I should probably put them together in some form so people could hear what I’d been up to.
“This entire project, from the actual sessions to my train fare and even the sandwiches I bring with me, has been funded by the subscriptions from my Patreon. That’s revolutionary for me, a totally new way of working without the pressures and expectations of a traditional label-artist setup and has resulted in my falling back in love with the studio.
“It was never my intention to use those funds to make a new album, but I found I had a small sum left over from paying the bills, so I was able to use it for that purpose and here we are. I rely on my Patrons and they get the best of everything – not just first dibs on all the new material, but unheard demos, artwork, videos, everything. It’s a total game-changer for me”
