Free Throw – Moments Before the Wind
Free Throw will release new album Moments Before the Wind on March 27 through Wax Bodega.
“The record has this theme of liminality – not just as a place, but in your mind,” vocalist/guitarist Cory Castro explains. “It’s like being stuck in a doorframe or a long hallway that never ends.
“There was a lot to write about this time around, but getting over that threshold definitely took some time.
“We tend to write albums that have a conceptual arc to them, but you just sort of have to let the songs reveal themselves and figure out what that actually is. When I got the call that I was going to be a dad, I immediately knew what song I was going to write. It just felt right.”

Alex Melton – The Process
Alex Melton will release new album The Process on March 3 through Pure Noise Records.
Alex said: “I’ve spent a lot of my life working towards goals. That’s how things are designed for us: get diploma, get degree, get job, get house, retire, end of level. So much time spent working toward the prize. Putting so much importance on the ringing of the bell, being able to say DONE. I DID IT. But that’s so fleeting, that feeling of accomplishment. We actually spend far more time in the middle of it all, planning, working, thinking, thinking, thinking, anticipating.
“The Process is my attempt at answering these questions, to focus on the things that bring me joy while acknowledging the things that keep me from fully embracing that joy. Frustration, anxiety, worry, the unjust nature of the world. It all feels so unfair. But still we exist, we attempt to thrive, and we love. That process, that feeling of striving for better, is exactly where we can find the meaning that we were brought here to find. It’s not easy, and it’s not always fun, but it can be filled with moments that stay with you forever. To live fully is to be everything at the same time, good days are bad days and everything in between. It’s all part of the process.”

Crimson Riot – Third Time’s a Charm
Crimson Riot will release new album (their third) Third Time’s a Charm on March 20 through Leg Lamp Records.
“‘Third Time’s A Charm’ is our appropriately named third album and the title is kind of an ode to our efforts to make this what it is, which is probably some of our best work,” says Roxy Gunn.
“We really dug into the recording process of this record and researched how best to achieve the sound we wanted. We were looking for that big, fill-your-entire-speaker sound without going too over the top. I think we definitely got it. This is the album that stands out. Third time’s a charm!”
Our Nameless Boy – Thorns
Our Nameless Boy will release new EP Thorns on April 10 via Bandcamp and April 17 on all other platforms.

Vocalist/guitarist Matthew Cole said: “I think what draws us to this music, just like everyone else, is the absolute raw emotion.
“In this kind of music people can really write about whatever they want, whether it’s being super angry, super sad, super happy–all of it has something in common, and that’s feeling so strongly about it that all they can do is scream.”

“When we got into the industry,” says frontman Jay Webster (aka SHAOLIN G), “we had to start playing by the industry rules and not so much by the rules that I had set for us. I was trying my hardest to stick to my code, but it felt like it wasn’t ever going to work.
“This album is what UNITYTX used to be before we got picked up. It’s letting go of all the tension that made us feel like we couldn’t do anything in this space and trying to push past that and reach—not our maximum potential—but start to see where else this can go. We’re trying to evolve both as a band and as people.”
