It’s time to get to know Tomm E. Williams of Go Primitive! We set Tomm 10 questions about his musical likes, tastes and guilty pleasures…

How would you describe your taste in music?

Eclectic, a good song is a good song! My heart definitely lies with rock though.

Who do you consider to be your favourite band and why?

Billy Talent, because for me they provide all the aggression and attitude I love from punk, but combine it with killer riffs and some very poetic lyric writing.

Who is the best live band you’ve ever seen?

I’ve got to go with Foo Fighters, I’ve seen them five times! Dave Grohl is certainly a big influence on my performance style. I love the way he makes the audience feel like they’re all his best friends.

What is the one song that you could listen to forever?

I’d hate that so much! I’d go with something like ‘Learn To Fly’ by Foo Fighters, because it’s very uplifting, but laid back enough to have on in the background.

What album, if any, was a turning point in your ‘musical life’ and why?

I’ll go old school here and say Van Halen 1! When I heard the album through my guitar teacher about age 11, I made the decision there and then that I was going to be a guitar player in a band. Twenty years later I haven’t changed my mind

In 3 words, what makes a good album or song?

Hooks, Riffs, Feeling!

A festival or a gig? Why?

I want to say gig because the sound is often better, being indoors and focused on only a few acts. I do love the atmosphere of a festival though.

Who would be your 3 dream festival headliners?

Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, ACDC

Who are the best new band you’ve discovered lately that everyone should know about?

Fort Hope! They are not that new, but they definitely deserve a shout out! We opened for them last year, and they are great guys.  Jon Gaskin has an incredibly haunting vocal that you all need to hear!

What band or artist is your secret, or not so secret, guilty pleasure?

Lady Gaga! She’s written so many incredibly catchy hooks.
