It’s time to get to know Jazmine, vocalist of Cursed Earth! We set Jazmine 10 questions about her musical likes, tastes and guilty pleasures…

How would you describe your taste in music?

I have a weirrrrrd taste in music I think a lot of what I listen to has relation into what I’m feeling that day so it’s pretty eclectic.

Who do you consider to be your favourite band and why?

Paramore, probably doesn’t seem like something I would like given what our band sounds like but they’ve been a staple for me for a while and they’re fucking amazing. You’re welcome to not like it, but just know that you’re wrong.

Who is the best live band you’ve ever seen?

Probably Code Orange, we were lucky enough to tour with them when they came to Australia. I watched them 10 times on that tour and they blew me away every night. They project this larger than life persona on stage that is entirely unapologetic in how brash and abrasive they are and it was something that I haven’t seen replicated.

What is the one song that you could listen to forever?

Any song written by Bones. I fuck with that heavier than almost anything else.

What album, if any, was a turning point in your ‘musical life’ and why?

Being from Australia it is hard not to acknowledge Parkway Drive‘s first album. They wrote the play book for heavy music in Australia and I felt like they handed it to me with that record. It really opened my eyes to what “heavy” music should be and what Australian musicians can do.

In 3 words, what makes a good album or song?

Fat, heavy, breakdowns

A festival or a gig? Why?

Not to fussed on either as long as the crowd is feeling it. One of the best shows we played was in a warehouse in Perth where I had worked. We tucked all the stock and fixtures away, packed it with our closest friends and turned everything to 11 before the cops showed up.

Who would be your 3 dream festival headliners?

Paramore, Paramore and Paramore.

Who are the best new band you’ve discovered lately that everyone should know about?

They aren’t really new and I haven’t really just discovered them, but everyone needs to check out Justice For The Damned. They are also from Australia and some of the best friends I’ve ever had they just put out an album called “Dragged Through The Dirt” and it is the goods.

What band or artist is your secret, or not so secret, guilty pleasure?

Bit of a recurring theme here but if you haven’t already figured out what my answer will be….. it’s Paramore.
