Birmingham pop-punks You Know the Drill are set to release their debut EP Losing Streak via Scylla Records on October 28.
The title of the record comes from lead single Less Than You. Frontman Benji Yapp says; “We felt it was a relevant title as it relates to the hard times in life that everyone goes through, where it just seems to be one bad thing after another.”
You can listen to Less Than You below;
The band started out as a hobby with the only music heard before now being classed as the band’s demos. Benji says; “We don’t like to take ourselves too seriously and feel that music is very often approached with a straight face, which is why we try to infuse as much fun and laughter into everything we do, whether it’s music videos, our live shows or even just hanging out with fans.”
He continues about Losing Streak; “We are essentially treating this as our first proper release as it is the music that has had the most hard work, effort and love put into it. We are crazy proud of it and every song on it is special to us in one-way or another.”
The EP was recorded at Steel City Studios in Sheffield with Drew Lawson and the quintet enlisted the help of fellow pop-punkers Grant Berry (former Me Vs. Hero) for mastering duties, Roam‘s Alex Adam to help refine the material and Neck Deep‘s Fil Thorpe-Evans with the all important job of creating the artwork which you can view below. The EP is set to be a must have in your collection with its massive hooks, arena ready choruses and energetic guitar work.
