Gallery Circus, rock two-piece from Newcastle, have released new single SUGAR from their upcoming EP CHI-TOWN DOGS out 4th August 2017.
Dan Ross, the band’s vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist, spoke about the meaning behind the new track;
“We wrote ‘Sugar’ when touring across the UK last year. Although it may not be too obvious from the lyrics, the song reveals some of the darker moments of being on the road. Band members being in such close proximity for extended periods of time can create strain on relationships. Although Graeme and I fight quite often (almost daily, sometimes with fists) – grudges are never held – it must be a twin thing. The track documents some of the bizarre rock ‘n’ roll scandals we encountered.”
Graeme Ross, drummer, has talked about their upcoming EP and what it’s all about;
“We named our EP after the famous Chicago style hot dog. Tasty! We wanted our first official record to reference how and where we started. Having played together in bands all our lives, we had never actually performed as just the two of us until we moved to the iconic US city a few years back.
The record was recorded in an old vicarage near Manchester, working day and night for a week and Dan did a great job of capturing the raw and abrasive energy of our shows. We’re a live band at heart and have the most fun rocking out on a stage. It was our first time in the studio where everything gelled effortlessly and the spontaneity of our playing was truly captured ”
