We’re excited to know that there is a form of Download this year – with the three-day limited capacity test event later this month.
Tickets go on sale today at 12pm and you can buy them from this link: www.downloadfestival.co.uk/download-pilot
The festival is a 10,000 capacity weekender held at Donington Park. Camping is allowed in a smaller area close to the stages – with just two stages.
It is set to take place over June 18-20 and anyone who purchases a ticket must have a negative lateral flow and PCR Covid test before entering the site. These will be done at home before you leave and proof must be shown of the negative result before entry.
The good thing about this is you will be able to mosh and hug etc as there is no social distancing requirements when inside.
But the main thing people want to know is – WHO IS PLAYING?
Well Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes will headline the main stage on the Friday, they will be joined by Neck Deep, Holding Absence, Boston Manor, Hot Milk, Sleep Token, Malevolence and Death Blooms.
On Saturday, the lineup will be headlined by Enter Shikari. They will be joined by While She Sleeps, Yonaka, Twin Atlantic, Wargasm, Bleed From Within, Creeper, Conjurer, As Everything Unfolds, Lotus Eater, Stone Broken, Vukovi, A, Those Damn Crows, The Hara and Tigercub.
On Sunday, Bullet For My Valentine will headline. They will be joined by Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Skindred, Lonely The Brave, The Wildhearts, Employed To Serve, Saint Agnes, Tash Boat, Jamie Lenman, Static Dress, Higher Power, Cassyette, Massive Wagons, Chubby & The Gang and Elvana.
Download booker Andy Copping said: “We’re incredibly excited to safely welcome back fans to Donington Park and honoured to play a vital part in the return of live music to the UK. Putting together a line-up of 40 outstanding bands including headliners like Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Enter Shikari and Bullet For My Valentine, is something the Download brand is uniquely able to do and made possible by a thriving UK rock scene and deep pool of in-demand talent. With moshing back on the cards, this is going to be a true celebration of festival spirit and something special to be a part of.”
