Def Leppard will be performing Hysteria in it’s entirety alongside many of their greatest hits in what is their only UK appearance of 2019! Joe Elliott says; “We are delighted to be going back to headline Download in 2019! The festival has a very special place in our hearts and it’s such a great place to play. We will be playing Hysteria in full – yes, in full! – plus a load more of the hits, and we are going to put on a very special show for our UK fans. Can’t wait to see you all there!”

Slipknot will be returning to again headline, following their 2015 spectacle. The masked metallers are one of the defining bands of a generation and fans will be delighted to see them return.

Tool are back at Download after a thirteen year absence and are set to headline with a whole host of incredible hits!

Slash will be returning with Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators for a captivating performance of impressive signature riffs and heavenly vocals.

Whitesnake will also be making an appearance with David Coverdale on vocals! David says; “Once again, we’ve been honoured to be invited to participate in the legendary DOWNLOAD 2019…Can’t Wait To See You All & Kick Arse Together!!!…So Ready 2 Rock!!!”

Bringing the horror to Download 2019 is Rob Zombie, while Trivium and Amon Amarth also return with their captivating brands of metal. You can get your death metal fix with Carcass and for those more symphony inclined; Delain will more than satisfy. South African hip-hoppers Die Antwood and the covers supergroup Me First And The Gimme Gimmes (featuring members of NOFX, Foo Fighters, Lagwagon and Swingin’ Utters) are set to entertain!

Progressive metal favourites Opeth return and it’s a festival debut for thrash metallers Power Trip. Ska-punks Reel Big Fish and Welsh reggae metallers Skindred both return. Starset are going to bring their anthemic rock, while Tesla are set to deliver a dose of classic, hard rock!

Australian metalcore titans The Amity Affliction will be bringing their brutal breakdowns, cutthroat screams and melodic hooks to the Download stage, while Underoath close out the first announcement as they return to the festival after a thirteen year absence!

Festival organiser Andy Copping says; “We’re incredibly excited to announce three legends as Download 2019 headliners. It’s not quite been 10,000 Days since we have been able to indulge in one of our favourite alt-rock bands, but after thirteen years I am thrilled to announce Tool are finally making their long-awaited return to Download. Renowned for being one of the best live bands on the planet due to their one-of-a-kind performances, Slipknot are an incredible addition to the main stage. Last but not least, I am honoured to welcome true Rock N’ Roll legends Def Leppard to Download who bring with them a UK exclusive chance to see Hysteria played in full.”

Download Festival takes place at Donington Park between June 14-16, 2019!
