KidBrother are the new emo punk band that you should have on your radar. The band recently released their debut single, Angst, but what really gets their blood going? The band took on our Desert Island Discs challenge and let us in on their favourite albums.
James – The Menzingers – On The Impossible Past
When I think of Albums that I can listen to the whole way through without one dip in quality, this is the first one on my list. On a desert Island you can sing your heart out because no one is listening and that’s exactly what I would do to this record every single day!
Saul – Manic Street Preachers – The Holy Bible
I grew up listening to the Manics pop rocks catalogue, but as an adult I can say this is the record that really stands out to me; honest, intelligent, challenging and diverse. The Holy Bible is a reminder of humanities horrors and listening to this on a desert island would probably make me feel pretty good about being so far away from civilisation.
Ffin – Gallows – Orchestra of Wolves
More specifically ‘Abandon Ship’ on repeat whilst I think about the poor life decisions that led me to being deserted on an Island.
Dan – Oasis – Standing on the Shoulders of Giants
The first album I heard by Oasis, I don’t think I stopped listening to it for about 2 years. I’m still jamming ‘Gas Panic’ to this day. Also ‘Fucking in the Bushes’ was the theme to Snatch and everyone loves Snatch.
Jay – A Day To Remember – For Those Who Have Heart
This album is special to me because it has the first song that I based my harsher vocal on when I was younger. It was the album that led me to pursue a career in music and with that it gave me the opportunity to travel across Europe playing my own songs. I have a lot to reminisce about on that desert Island.
