Swedish post-punk dark pop band True Moon came about after vocalist Karolina and guitarist Tift realised how bored and frustrated they were with the current state of Swedish music. Their early experience with music helped them on their way to finding the sound they really wanted to create.

Frontman Karolina Engdahl picks her top 5 albums and tells us why they have become her favourites & influenced her future in music.

Hole – Live Through This
This record has a huge place in my heart. The expression in Courtney’s voice and the music has given me strength and inspiration throughout the years. I love Hole. In fact, I have a tribute-tattoo that says “Hole in my heart” with a heart around it… that’s how much I love Hole.

Sisters Of Mercy – First and Last and Always

This record has a darkness and a sound which I really like, it speaks directly to my soul and makes me want to make a million new songs.

Masshysteri – Masshysteri

This amazing band hit me like a hurricane with lyrics about small-town anxiety and melodies that makes your heart burn. I’m glad I got to see them twice before they split.

Fleetwood Mac – Rumours

A great band, and, Stevie Nicks! Another love of my life with a voice like no one else! She’s a Magic creature! Anyway, I could listen to this all day.

Thin Lizzy – Jailbreak

This is an everyday, feel good record and it pulls me back to when I used to live in sort of a collective in a town in southern Sweden, my neighbours played this record loud with open
