Leeds alt-rockers Day Old Hate are set to unleash their sophomore EP First Light on the world on February 12 2016.
Vocalist Oliver Swift says of the creation: “We wanted to write better songs than we ever had before. Making brave decisions and pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone was a must; it was an intense experience – we pushed ourselvesto write the best rock record we could. Overall, it feels like a more authentic representationof Day Old Hate than anything that’s come before.”
Citing the completion of First Light as a “huge turning point” for the band, Swift feels excited and optimistic for the road ahead, his sights set firmly on making Day Old Hate a full time endeavor: “Lyrically it’s all based upon not allowing other peoples thoughts and opinions on life determine what you want to do. If you have a dream or goal then it’s up to you to make it happen.”
