Convention-defying melodic punks Darko are pleased to reveal a high octane live video for ‘Canthus Viewpoints’, the last track to be taken from the Sea of Trees EP, out now on Lockjaw Records (Drones, Antillectual, Belvedere).

Containing an eye-watering amount of intense, shred-laden skate punk that barrels along at a pace that would drain the blood from the knuckles of even the most ardent thrash fan, this is pure, unfiltered Darko at their hooky, thrilling best.

To celebrate their first visit to Japan for a week of headline tour dates, the band also recently released a compilation album of all their previous material titled The Beards & Before as a Japanese exclusive through Milestone Sounds, featuring tracks from their back catalogue of the Darko EP, From Trust To Conformity and Sea of Trees.

“Japan was such an amazing experience” enthuses Rob Piper about their recent stint in the country “This tour was the furthest from home we’ve been as a band and it was a humbling feeling traveling to the other side of the world and seeing the audience singing our tunes back to us.

“Everyone we met was so welcoming and awesome, I can’t wait to get back out there – it’s also a great place to refine your karaoke skills! This video gives you a taste of the energy and excitement we experienced whilst on the tour. We also can’t say thanks enough to the Romantic Nobita booking team for keeping us in check for the week.”

Channelling the technical skill Pennywise, A Wilhelm Scream and Propagandhi, the quintet specialize in melodic, fingertapped guitar intricacy woven into a balls-out strain of skate punk.

Hi I'm Gareth, A foolish Welshman that has found himself living in Scotland. I adore live music and this all started back in University when a friend dragged me along to my first gig and I saw Travis. From then on I spent a lot of time going to see bands from rubbish uni bands that had formed one drunken night to the mighty Blur. When I finished uni there was a 10 year gap between gigs (long story). Now though, on any given day of the week I can be found in the venues of Glasgow. With regards to my music taste I love anything with great lyrics and heavy drums. When I was younger (and still am) I was obsessed with a band called Alisha's Attic.
When not at a gig I will be found at my computer playing games like Prison Architect, Hearthstone and Wolfenstein.
