Having recently announced the release of their second EP ‘An Intrinsic Evolution‘, alt/rock quartet The Autumn Ravine have unveiled the brilliant new video for single ‘Narcissus‘. The track is the first insight that fans will get of the forthcoming record and emphasizes the power and emotion that the EP holds.

Of the track, vocalist/guitarist Damon Griffiths told Punktastic: ” ‘Narcissus’ is written about a modern interpretation of the Greek mythological character Narcissus. In some versions of the tale, Narcissus drowned himself when he laid eyes upon his own reflection in a pond. He drowned because he admired his own appearance so much he fell in love with it and was unable to let it go. The track is a modern interpretation of this tale, because it is written about someone I once knew who became obsessed with social media status, appearing wealthy, the need to be what society deems as beautiful and ultimately herself, to the point in which she pushed me out of her life for not being up to this social standard. Personally I find it sad that many people live their life focusing on their wealth, social status and physical attributes rather than on the important things in life like knowledge, family, friends and the experiences you share with them, which is an overarching theme across the entire EP.

The Autumn Ravine are:
Damon Griffiths – Vocals/Guitar
Alby Walbank – Guitar
Lee Smith – Bass
Thomas Gaskill – Drums/Vocals

Hi I'm Gareth, A foolish Welshman that has found himself living in Scotland. I adore live music and this all started back in University when a friend dragged me along to my first gig and I saw Travis. From then on I spent a lot of time going to see bands from rubbish uni bands that had formed one drunken night to the mighty Blur. When I finished uni there was a 10 year gap between gigs (long story). Now though, on any given day of the week I can be found in the venues of Glasgow. With regards to my music taste I love anything with great lyrics and heavy drums. When I was younger (and still am) I was obsessed with a band called Alisha's Attic.
When not at a gig I will be found at my computer playing games like Prison Architect, Hearthstone and Wolfenstein.
