Zahna takes on the A-Z challenge

Our A-Z challenge is a fun way to get to know the many bands and artists out there. Here it’s the turn of Zahna to tell us about themselves.

In today’s A-Z challenge we wanted to find out more about Zahna so we asked her to answer 26 burning questions.

A song that made you want to make music?

Walls by Emery

Best rider you have had?

I’m super simple!!! One of the best terms in my rider/contract is that the venue has to provide sharpies for the merch table hahaha. Need those!

Craziest moment in the band?

Getting thunderstorm-rained out for a music video shoot on the cliffside of a remote mountain

(with no cell phone service) in Colorado. Not ideal.

Deepest lyric one of your songs features?

Broke the chains to stay alive, submit to silence or defy. All the pain, brought the gain, My weakness turns to strength.” That’s a line from the song “Chokehold” by Reclaim The Day (feat. Zahna)

Erase

I’m Sorry ‘cause it’s got such a fun, jumping and danceable chorus! Brings the energy!

Takahiro Moriuchi of One OK Rock

Hardest thing about being in a band?

Wearing multiple hats, such as being content creator, getting funding, running finances, designing merch and graphics, song campaign planning, marketing, music video shoot planning, improving at your instrument, conditioning physical fitness for performing on stage, being a good driver, and so much more!

Interesting fact about one of your members?

I was born in Mexico!

Speaking in Boston accents – it’s wicked great.

Reason for the title of your forthcoming release?

I haven’t chosen a title yet. But it’s gonna be epic. It’s going to embody overthrowing the powerful forces keeping someone down, and vanquishing evil!!!

See us live at?

No tour dates yet. Finishing the album first!

The old days of music were better than the current, do you agree?

I would say the live show scene was better back then and the music industry wasn’t so divided by politics and social issues, but I really love the music being released right now. It’s so beautiful!

Unusual merchandise?

I have little crocheted mini me dolls on my merch table!

Variations you’d like to do on one of your songs?

I’d love to do a dance club mix of my song Reaper.

What do your fans mean to you?

My fans believed in me before industry professionals ever did! I’d be nothing without them.

X-rays or any other treatments needed for band injuries?

I had a kidney transplant, but I was just born with a genetic disease! No cool stage story behind it, just toughing out the cards dealt.

You’re late for a show, whose fault is it?

Mine entirely, lol.

Zoo animal that best describes the personality of your band?

Probably some exotic and chatty/obnoxious tropical birds that squawk loudly.
