Eliott – The Sweetness – Jimmy Eat World
Josh – Hotdog – Limp Bizkit
Charlie – The Golden Rule – The Lonely Island

Best Rider You have Ever Had:

10 litres of Strawberry Daiquiris! No joke we all love Strawberry Daiquiris.

Craziest Moment You’ve Experienced In The Band:

Playing the Halloween Zombie Ball in 2014 and seeing “rave” pits breaking out during our set. We’d only been a band for 3 months at this point!

Deepest Lyrics One Of Your Songs Features:

I felt the pressure leaving me transcending to a state of optimism – Recovery 2.0

Easiest Song You Wrote:

C.M.N.K.S.

Favourite Song In Your Set:

C.M.N.K.S ☺

Guest You’d Most Like To Feature On Your Record:

Taylor Swift

Hardest Thing About Being In A Band:

Lifting stuff!

Interesting Fact About One Of Your Members:

Alex used to compete for Great Britain in Modern Pentathlon all over the world and Charlie has a law degree! That’s actually two facts, don’t mark us down… (Gareth Rooke: See me after class)

Jokes You Have In The Band:

Too many to even list. The most common will be something about Charlie ALWAYS being late.

Key To Writing a Song:

Add Synth 😉

Longest Distance You’ve Travelled To Play A Show:

Currently the furthest we’ve travelled to play is Gloucester. We have a tour booked for June so we’ll be getting a bit further up the M5 then!

Most Inspiring Musician You’ve Ever Experienced:

Denis Shaforostov (Asking Alexandria) – This lad comes from the Ukraine and started a YouTube channel called “above92” where he would do vocal covers of popular songs. A few years later he is now travelling the world as the vocalist for Asking Alexandria, possibly the biggest band in the world in the Metalcore genre. Denis’s story is incredibly inspiring and shows that hard work and determination can make your dreams come true.

New Band You’d Recommend:

Reign Eternal – These lads are also from Devon and have just put out an EP of which Matt features on the track “Fighting Blind”.

Opening For This Band Would Be Ideal:

Asking Alexandria

Place You’d Most Like To Tour:

Anywhere in the US!

Quote That You’d Like To Pass On To Readers:

“Ripped & kewl” – A modern day phrase one uses to describe something that is particularly pleasing / desirable. We’re not ashamed to have picked this up from Eric Cartman.

Reason For The Title Of Your Recent/Forthcoming Release:

Purge is about trying to overcome and understand the control and deception we’re all victims of.

See Us Live At:

Keep an eye out for our tour announcement coming soon.

The Old Days Of Music Were Better Than Those Current, do you agree:

No way. Having the ability to download music anywhere, anytime, anyplace surely beats sitting by your radio for hours with your finger hovering over the play and record button waiting for that one track you’ve been dying to own only to find that when the track is finally played you’ve only hit the play button!

Unusual Merchandise:

We have a sock puppet named “rave sloth” which we keep on our merch stand at shows. Rave sloth has developed a keen eye for the ladies and has helped us sell a lot of merch. Many of said ladies have want to pet and take photos with rave sloth. Someone has even asked for the chance to spend the night with him. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that we will get back our very dear rave sloth if we let him go off with strangers and so we have now come up with the idea that we will sell rave sloth cloness to circumvent this! This way we can ensure that we will not be without rave sloth after a show and that everyone will be able to experience the wonders of having your own rave sloth.

Variations You’d Like To Do On Any Of Your Songs:

We have plans to release and acoustic version of Purge later this year. We are also thinking of doing a remix of one of our tracks in an EDM style.

What Do Your Fans Mean To You:

I’m sure everyone says that their fans are the best but ours are the reason we’re still making music, every nice word, tee-shirt sold or single bought on iTunes just reaffirms why you do it, just for the rush of having someone like what you’re doing and promoting you. In our early days we only made this band so that we could play our songs live once just to say that we’d done it but the reception from people was so overwhelming that we just carried on and never looked back.

X-rays or any other treatments needed for band related injuries:

None

You’re late for a show, who’s fault is it:

100% Charlie’s. He’s probably forgotten his hair straighteners or something…

Zoo animal that best describes the personality of your band:

Not sure if it’s a Zoo animal but a Crab would be pretty accurate. Watch any of our videos or come down to a show and you’ll know why!

Gareth Rooke

March 1, 2016

Hi I'm Gareth, A foolish Welshman that has found himself living in Scotland. I adore live music and this all started back in University when a friend dragged me along to my first gig and I saw Travis. From then on I spent a lot of time going to see bands from rubbish uni bands that had formed one drunken night to the mighty Blur. When I finished uni there was a 10 year gap between gigs (long story). Now though, on any given day of the week I can be found in the venues of Glasgow. With regards to my music taste I love anything with great lyrics and heavy drums. When I was younger (and still am) I was obsessed with a band called Alisha's Attic.
When not at a gig I will be found at my computer playing games like Prison Architect, Hearthstone and Wolfenstein.
