Save Us take on the A-Z challenge

Our A-Z challenge is a fun way to get to know the many bands and artists out there. Here it’s the turn of Save Us to tell us about themselves!

In today’s A-Z challenge, we tasked Save Us with telling us all about themselves through 26 fun questions.

A song that made you want to make music?

For me personally, it was “The Kill” by Thirty Seconds to Mars. That song really made me want to write music of my own.

Best rider you have had?

We haven’t had a proper rider yet, but we’re looking forward to having our first one on our upcoming tour with Saosin.

Craziest moment in the band?

Stepping foot in the UK and meeting Chris and Benji for the first time. That moment made everything feel real.

Deepest lyric one of your songs features?

“It came to an end, the sun and the stars aligning / Alone I ascend, I’ll leave the dark behind me.”

Easiest song you wrote?

“Nightmare.” We wrote it in a day.

Favourite song in your set?

We all love “Seraphim.”

Guest you’d most like to feature on your record?

For me personally, Noah Sebastian from Bad Omens, but that’s definitely a pipe dream.

Hardest thing about being in a band?

The hardest thing about being in this band is being so far away from my band members.

Interesting fact about one of your members?

Chris owns both a barbershop and a Pokémon card shop.

Jokes you have in the band?

Mozzarelli’s!!! Chris and Benji insider.

Key to writing a song?

Don’t overthink it and don’t set rules for yourself. Allow the song to take shape how it needs to.

Longest distance you’ve travelled to play a show?

Unfortunately, we haven’t played a show together yet.

Most inspiring musician you’ve experienced?

Watching Bring Me the Horizon live was one of the most inspiring experiences. Oli Sykes is an amazing frontman.

New band you’d recommend?

For me personally, I’d say Ladrones. I think those guys are killing it.

Opening for this band would be ideal?

We’d love to open for The Plot In You.

Place you’d most like to tour?

Germany.

Quote that you’d like to pass on to our readers?

Never give up on your dreams. Anything is possible. Don’t be afraid. Just jump in and go.

Reason for the title of your forthcoming release?

“Far” felt like the perfect title to represent the song. It’s about being far away from your loved ones while you’re out pursuing your dreams.

See us live at?

Our upcoming tour with Saosin.

The old days of music were better than the current. Do you agree?

I have mixed feelings. I miss the rawness of the older sound, but I love how open minded a lot of newer bands are when it comes to fusing genres. It’s an exciting time for the scene.

Unusual merchandise?

A death metal Save Us T shirt.

Variations you’d like to do on one of your songs?

I’d love to do a full acoustic version of “Death to Something.”

What do your fans mean to you?

They mean the world to us. We’re so grateful to have them and for the platform they’ve given us to share our art. We love you!

X-rays or any treatments needed for band injuries?

Luckily, no band injuries have required X-rays or treatment so far.

You’re late for a show, whose fault is it?

Chris, because he forgot the Thunderbolt cable at the last show. LOL.
