A song that made you want to make music?
Best rider you have had?
Craziest moment as an artist?
Deepest lyric one of your songs features?
Probably Hollow Armour as a whole:
“It corrodes, it corrodes- still determined to find its way in
And it grows and it grows- buried deep somewhere under the skin
Please let go, please let go- every fight it will easily win
And it knows, and it knows, it’s over now”
Easiest song you wrote?
Favourite song in your set?
Guest you’d most like to feature on your record?
Hardest thing about being a solo artist?
Interesting fact about you?
I have stuck to a goal of reading 50 books a year since 2015.
Joke you like to tell?
Key to writing a song?
Finding a hook or melody that grips you and makes people need to go back and listen to that track after the first time.
Longest distance you’ve travelled to play a show?
We drove from Liverpool UK to Ljubljana, Slovenia in one go (35 hours there, 25 back).
Most inspiring musician you’ve experienced?
Tash Sultana is a phenomenal artist. Incredible live shows where they are able to multitask so many different loops and instruments.
New band/artist you’d recommend?
Freddy’s new project Grinn!
Opening for this band/artist would be ideal?
TOO MANY TO CHOOSE! Rob Zombie, Poppy, Skindred jump to mind.
Place you’d most like to tour?
Japan!
Quote that you’d like to pass on to our readers?
YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE, DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY AND STOP WORRYING ABOUT WHAT OTHERS MIGHT THINK ABOUT YOU!
Reason for the title of your forthcoming release?
We have a fabulous “CHRISTMAS” single ‘The Krampus, The Krampus’ coming out this December 2025, which is going to be incredible. It’s a rework of one of our other tracks (Medusa Medusa). It’s about the Krampus- but really it’s inspired by the creepiness of Santa in other songs. “He sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake….” That is pretty menacing when you think about it.
See me live at?
N/A
The old days of music were better than the current, do you agree?
Depends in what sense. I like that a lot of the barriers have been removed that stopped people from creating and releasing their own music in the past- so there’s so much more variety when you really dig in. The issue here is there’s so much music to choose from, you might be missing out on your perfect band or artist and never know about it.
Unusual merchandise?
We would like to stock a full range of Novacrow underwear and novelty kazoos. Underwear and kazoo industry folk, please reach out, we have a lucrative proposition for you.
Variations you’d like to do on one of your songs?
We’ve got our fabulous Christmas rework of Medusa Medusa coming out, but otherwise, a FULL brass band live version of the original would be fantastic.
What do your fans mean to you?
Absolutely tonnes. We’re so grateful for all of the support we’ve had over the years and every single person who has picked up a piece of merch or recommended us to a friend is a FULL SCALE LEGEND.
X-rays or any treatments needed for performance-related injuries?
Surprisingly no. Only our fans have suffered during our performances, due to having their minds blown.
You’re late for a show, whose fault is it?
To be honest, some sort of massive surprise event in Liverpool causing painful amounts of traffic. Or Jonyx has spent too long doing his hair (visual joke here because he is bald).
Zoo animal that best describes the personality of you?
A sarcastic flamingo.
