A SONG WHICH MADE YOU WANT TO MAKE MUSIC:

Plug in baby – Muse

BEST RIDER YOU HAVE EVER HAD:

Back in my old band we had an amazing Germany tour where one rider cooked us lasagne . That was pretty awesome

CRAZIEST MOMENT YOU’VE EXPERIENCED IN THE BAND:

Our band is pretty new, so I guess the craziest thing is the positive response we had to our first single ‘Merger”

DEEPEST LYRICS ONE OF YOUR SONGS FEATURES:

The intro song to our EP “Transition” probably is the deepest. “So take, your pride, your promise, and its not that you will have to hide and save, your country from your soul, theres no place left to go” is a message to myself after my last band split. We had been together doing what we love for so long but sometimes things change and if you still have the heart and soul to keep going, then your country (referring to my career) can still be saved if you carry on alone.

EASIEST SONG YOU WROTE:

“Charlie Kelly” was the easiest song to write for me. It’s always cliché for a musician to write a breakup song and sometimes I do revisit that, it isn’t a great thing to go through. But for one song I wanted to be cynical about it for once, and when i related that to a tv show I loved (“It’s always sunny in Philadelphia”) I laughed at how the title character was someone I was becoming. So I made it about that.

FAVOURITE SONG IN YOUR SET:

We have a song in our live set that isn’t a part of the EP but still one of my favourites. The song has a working titled called “Frankly My dear, I don’t give a Van Damme”, and musically it’s one of the most energetic and heaviest tracks we do.

GUEST YOU’D MOST LIKE TO FEATURE ON YOUR RECORD:

We already have a guest vocalist on our first single “Merger”. Mitchell Bock from “When We Were Wolves” does a cameo on the songs outro. I have a lot of friends in bands that I would love to get involved in another guest vocal bit next time we hit the studio, but if I had to pick anyone to be a guest vocal, I’d love to work with Jamie Lenman (Former vocalist of Reuben). His voice is so brutal yet has a great singing voice too, exactly what i try to accomplish hahaha

HARDEST THING ABOUT BEING IN A BAND:

I suppose the hardest thing about being in a band can also be the easiest, and that’s finding a chemistry within all members of the project. Icantdie started in my room 2 years ago, and when the members came in and out, it was sort of a case of helping me get back on stage. Now, it’s a case of keeping that line-up because were all there for the same reason.

INTERESTING FACT ABOUT ONE OF YOUR MEMBERS:

I’ve been on TV a couple of times. Done TV extra bits for Stella and Casualty

JOKES YOU HAVE IN THE BAND:

Again, were quite a new band, but I can safely say that any jokes made in this band are at my expense. I’m a pretty gullible person and can be wound up a lot, but it’s all in good banter haha

KEY TO WRITING A SONG:

Music is an expression

Write lyrics that mean something to you

Write music that you think sounds good

Don’t do it for anyone else.

LONGEST DISTANCE YOU’VE TRAVELLED TO PLAY A SHOW:

Again, we are a new band so our first gig will then be furthest. But we hope to do more and tour in the future.

MOST INSPIRING MUSICIAN YOU’VE EVER EXPERIENCED:

I’d like to say Matthew Bellamy from Muse as they are my favourite band. However, the most inspiring musician I’ve seen has to be Dustin Censure from the band Thrice. I saw them play Hevy Fest in 2015 and the show was just phenomenal. Truly a talented musician and band.

NEW BAND YOU’D RECOMMEND:

Go check out I Fight Bears. (https://www.facebook.com/ifightbearsband) Great bunch of guys and they have also done recordings at the same studio as us. Tidy Studios with Gav Burrough (Ex-Funeral for a friend)

OPENING FOR THIS BAND WOULD BE IDEAL:

No doubt we would love to open for bands like Billy Talent, Arcane Roots and Everytime I Die. I think we’d fit their bill perfectly.

PLACE YOU’D MOST LIKE TO TOUR:

Anywhere!! plus I’d love to go back to Germany…..get some more Lasagne haha

QUOTE THAT YOU’D LIKE TO PASS ON TO READERS:

“Go Start a band” – Jesse Lacy (Brand New)

REASON FOR THE TITLE OF YOUR RECENT/FORTHCOMING RELEASE:

“Transition/Merger” came up when I wanted to do a two parter song to water this band off. The emotions and revelations that came with the ending of my long time running band was just so much to put into one song. “Transition” is about picking yourself up and still believing in your own cause, whereas “Merger” is a reassurance of that cause and doing something different to make it happen.

SEE US LIVE AT:

Throwfest 2016 Womanby St, Cardiff, Sunday 21st August. We will be opening the festival at the Fuel Rock Club Stage. Tickets still on sale now!

THE OLD DAYS OF MUSIC WERE BETTER THAN THOSE CURRENT, DO YOU AGREE:

Agree and disagree if I’m honest, there are so many technological advances to music promotion and creation that back in the old days would’ve been impossible to imagine in our bedrooms at the click of a mouse. Yet because of this availability, music has become what the great David Bowie predicted it would be, “Ubiquitous and free flowing’, and its because of this that getting your name out there in music is more difficult.

UNUSUAL MERCHANDISE:

We haven’t got any merch this moment, but we are working on some great ideas. We’ve seen some cool t-shirt designs in the past, so inspiration is everywhere. The weirdest merch I’ve seen bands do is their own brand of coffee or beer.

VARIATIONS YOU’D LIKE TO DO ON ANY OF YOUR SONGS:

Again were pretty new at the moment. But I have one song in mind I’d like to see done in a Jazz style haha.

WHAT DO YOUR FANS MEAN TO YOU:

We may write music for ourselves, but the appreciation and support we’ve gotten since this band started to grow has been awesome. So I guess it means everything to us.

X-RAYS OR ANY OTHER TREATMENTS NEEDED FOR BAND RELATED INJURIES:

Uhhh not right now, but I hope it doesn’t come to that either.

YOU’RE LATE FOR A SHOW, WHO’S FAULT IS IT:

Probably mine, I’m a terrible time keeper.

ZOO ANIMAL THAT BEST DESCRIBES THE PERSONALITY OF YOUR BAND:

Dolphin,

Entertaining, make beautiful sounds, millions come to see, and if you feed us fish we will do tricks for you!
