In today’s A-Z challenge, we find out all about Katerina Nicole through 26 questions!
A song that made you want to make music?
When Complicated by Avril Lavigne came out it was stuck in my head non stop. I knew she was onto something, and at the time Much Music was just starting to become a weekly ritual for me. I was glued to the tv waiting for more songs to be released.
Best rider you have had.
I have yet to experience going on tour but I would probably have hot matcha lattes and cookies on that rider list.
Craziest moment you’ve experienced in music?
Shooting the music video for ‘What I Know Now’ was a thrill. We had an intense sand storm on the beach in Port Jefferson. We were doubling as a desert and I was getting completely sand blasted as I struggled to complete the scene.
Deepest lyric one of your songs features?
My Song ‘Catch My Breath” was the first song written on the EP and the most personal. It wasn’t easy to lay it all there and say “Let me out of this nightmare I’m in the depths of despair.”
Easiest song you wrote?
The easiest song I’ve written so far on my EP was ‘Darkling’. I wrote it on a flight to Las Vegas. The sound was giving off a creepy vibe and I started to remember in detail a ghost I saw as a kid.
Favourite song in your set?
My favorite song in ‘Serene In Violent Oceans’ is Emotionally. I really feel the waves of thoughts and feelings when I sing it. I almost feel a sense of renewal.
Guest you’d most like to feature on your record?
It would be an absolute honor to have Courtney LaPlante on a track with me!
Hardest thing about being a musician?
I find myself constantly being my own cheerleader, especially being an indie artist. In those harder moments I try to lean on my incredible team, and come up with fun projects to keep us all moving along together.
Interesting fact about you?
I used to own two recreational cannabis stores in BC Canada. That was a really interesting and adventurous time. It wasn’t so long ago but it already seems like a different lifetime. I’m forever grateful to that passion project because it has led me here today.
Jokes you like to tell?
Why did the chicken cross the road? B-B-BECAUUUUSE!
Key to writing a song?
Being incredibly honest with yourself. It’s way too easy to paint a prettier picture.
Longest distance you’ve travelled to play a show?
From Kelowna, BC to Las Vegas, Nevada to make a guest appearance at The Cosmopolitan. I was so lucky to make a friend inside The Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails. I highly recommend that place for a good time!
Most inspiring musician you’ve experienced?
Randy Blythe the vocalist of Lamb Of God. My entire adolescence was 4x4ing with my neighbors in the dirt roads of Summerland BC, Canada. It wasn’t until harder times came that I really started paying attention to the lyrics and resonating with it. I’ve experienced the wall of death twice and I can’t say I’ve ever been happier to release that pent up energy!
New band/artist you’d recommend?
I will hype up FKA RAYNE all day long. Their sound is awesome and Maddy is a fireball!
Opening for this band/artist would be ideal?
I would LOVE to open up for Bring Me The Horizon.
Place you’d most like to tour?
I have a desire to perform at Wacken Open Air in Germany! Es ware verruckt!

No matter how turbulent life gets I believe that we can stay at peace within ourselves.
See me live at?
The Broken Hearts Club @ Crown and Thieves Winery in West Kelowna, BC, Canada, February 22, 2025.
The old days of music were better than the current, do you agree?
I do owe a lot to the old greats that came before me, but I feel like I have a lot more opportunities today to be outside of the box.
Unusual merchandise?
No.
Variations you’d like to do on one of your songs?
I would like to incorporate more house music into a track one day.
What do your fans mean to you?
Even if one person resonates with my sound or my lyrics or anything that I express brings me great gratitude. I am ultimately creating music for myself but if it can touch someone who needs it I have done my job.

Not yet. KNOCK ON WOOD.
You’re late for a show, whose fault is it?
