Jule Vera are the pop-rock band that will steal your hearts. Their debut album Waiting For The Sun is released today and full of huge hooks and beautiful vocals. We caught up with the band to ask them all about the record and their forthcoming stint on Vans Warped Tour!
The release date for your debut album Waiting For The Sun is coming up soon. Are you excited for people to hear it?
Yes! We’re super excited for people to hear what we’ve put our heart and soul into for months!
Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the record?
The new record isn’t exactly a themed record, but some of the songs do have similar inspirations. We were inspired by everything going on in our lives recently, our relationships, our struggles, and the places we’ve been.
Do you have a favourite track on the album?
My personal favorite is Bad Company because it’s super fun to play live and just to listen to. It mixes a few different genres and is really upbeat, it’s just a feel good song.
This is your first release since 2015’s debut EP Friendly Enemies, how do you feel that you have progressed your sound since then?
I think musically, it is more complex with more interesting rhythms and melodies but it sounds more pop. As individual musicians we were able to express more of what our styles and interests are in our music.
You’re heading out on Vans Warped Tour again this year! Are you excited for that?
Yes, we are super excited but also nervous to play our new album for the first time on main stage. We’re also excited to meet all of the bands on the tour, make new fans, and Tada Catering is awesome.
To celebrate your Warped Tour stint, if you could join forces with one other act on the line-up this year for a track, who would it be?
If we had a track with Microwave that would be awesome.
What else does 2017 have in store for Jule Vera?
Be on the lookout for some new music videos, tour dates and some new merch!
We always end with some random questions; what was the last lie you told?
We don’t lie. 😉
What’s the most rock star thing you’ve ever done?
At one show, Will, our bassist, threw his bass down at the end of the show and completely snapped his bass in half.
What was the first record you remember buying?
The first record I remember buying was Don’t Forget by Demi Lovato.
