In today’s A-Z challenge, we asked AJ Chacon, drummer for Jawfane, to tell us about the band!
A song that made you want to make music?
I mostly listened to System Of A Down when I was a kid so I really wanted to make music to feel the way I do when I hear them.
Best rider you’ve had?
Craziest moment as an artist?
On my first show with Jawfane, the crowd cheered me on cause it was my first time performing in a band.
Deepest lyric one of your songs features?
Time Hunts Us All is a real good one. I think the title speaks for itself.
Easiest song you wrote?
I’m not sure if I can call it easy because I added about two lines of lyrics to a song that isn’t out yet but it was pretty easy.
Favourite song in your set?
Again Time Hunts Us All is a really high energy and a great choice for a closer. Until the next one arrives anyway.
Guest you’d most like to feature on your record?
Hardest thing about being in a band?
Interesting fact about being in a band?
I’ve only been in the band about 2 years compared to everyone else.
Jokes you like to tell in the band?
Why can’t a T-Rex clap?
They’re extinct. 🙂
Key to writing a song?
I wish I could help but I feel it just comes out as it needs to. You’ll know when it’s done.
Longest distance you’ve travelled to play a show?
I believe it was around 2 or 3 hours but if definitely do more in the future.
Most inspiring musician you’ve experienced?
I personally love the way Jon Mess has inspired and influenced my music career.
New band/artist you’d recommend?
There’s a band called decay. that really put on a good live show.
Opening for this band/artist would be ideal?
Place you’d most like to tour?
I bet Japan would be beautiful to tour.
Quote that you’d like to pass on to our readers?
Love one another. Love like there is no tomorrow.
Reason for the title of your forthcoming release?
It’s a secret. 🙂

The old days of music were better than the current, do you agree?
I like music whenever it comes out. As long as it’s got soul.
Unusual merchandise?
I think having some Jawfane underwear would be real niche.
Variations you’d like to do on one of your songs?
We have a variation in mind for one already. You’ll just have to stick around to find out.
What do your fans mean to you?
They really do mean a lot. I want to connect to our fans with the music we write. Let em know they’re not alone.
X-rays or any treatments needed for performance-related injuries?
No and hopefully none in the future lol.
You’re late for a show, whose fault is it?
Me, the drummer, probably from oversleeping.
Zoo animal that best describes the personality of you?
I’m thinking along the lines of a poison dart frog. They look like swell lil guys.
