Following the release of their latest single ‘Lie With The Dogs‘ and ahead of the May 7th release of new EP Can’t Forget, we asked Feed Them To The Forest’s guitarist Lee Raisbeck to tell us more about the band using our A-Z challenge!

A song that made you want to make music?

Thriller by Michael Jackson

Best rider you’ve had?

I like receiving obscure own brand beers.

Craziest moment you’ve experienced in the band?

A massive brawl broke out just after our set once, the club parrot was going bananas. Oh, there was a parrot in attendance too.

Deepest lyrics one of your songs features?

We don’t talk like we once did, so I’ll just make up where you’ve been.

Easiest song you wrote?

We Used to Make Mixtapes. That one came together really quickly.

Favourite song in your set?

Lie With The Dogs!

Guest you’d most like to feature on your record?

Robert Smith.

Hardest thing about being in a band?

Time management. Stress.

Interesting fact about one of your members?

One of us was a child actor in adverts. Not saying who.

Jokes you have in the band?

Too many ridiculous in jokes, we spend hours in the van in our own little bubble then forget people don’t understand what we’re on about out back in reality.

Key to writing a song?

Pick your best ideas and then nit-pick away at them.

Longest distance you’ve travelled to play a show?

315 miles, according to Google maps.

Most inspiring musician you’ve experienced?

For me it was a band called Whitmore, they brought their own gear onstage, that’s when I though ‘Hey, I can do this!’

New band you’d recommend?

Talkshop.

Opening for this band would be ideal?

Creeper, h’away lads, sort it out.

Place you’d most like to tour?

South America looks rad.

Quote you’d like to pass on to our readers?

‘Check out our new EP – Can’t Forget‘…wise words.

Reasons for the title of your recent/forthcoming release?

The new EP deals with the issue of looking back and not letting go of things, both good and bad – this is referenced in the lyrics across all five songs.

See us live at?

All over the place! But especially our EP Launch in York, July 14th!

The old days of music were better than the current, do you agree?

As time goes on, music that used to exist still exists and new music adds to it, I can’t see how writing off all future music is a good thing – it’s not like you have to choose between the two!

Unusual merchandise?

Every year we discuss doing a calendar. Quite possible a raunchy calendar. Maybe next year…

Variations you’d like to do on any of your songs?

We like to do new versions of our songs all the time, I like to strip it down and go acoustic.

What do your fans mean to you?

Everything, people who support us are amazing and normally very handsome.

X-rays or any treatments needed for band related injuries?

We have so many minor ailments it’s ridiculous.

You’re late for a show, whose fault is it?

Me! I’ve normally overslept….

Zoo animal that best describes the personality of your band?

The noble Sea Turtle. All they know is how to be rad.
