Dose Of Adolescence take on the A-Z challenge

Our A-Z challenge is a fun way to get to know the many bands and artists out there. Here it’s the turn of Dose Of Adolescence to tell us about themselves.

In today’s A-Z challenge, we wanted to learn more about Dose of adolescence!

A song that made you want to make music?

Blink 182 Dick Lips

Best rider you have had?

None come to mind!

Craziest moment in the band?

Opening up for The Fray in front of 10,000 people.

Deepest lyric one of your songs features?

A penny for your thoughts, could amount to a lot, if you just know

Easiest song you wrote?

Lean Back came together in a few days

Favourite song in your set?

Get Back Up I love all of our songs but this song is a ton of fun and energetic to play live.

Guest you’d most like to feature on your record?

I’d love to have Mike Shinoda as a feature on our record 1. He’s incredibly talented, 2. If it weren’t for him talking with my brother Jimmy and I separately after our first show back after our best friend Steve and band mate passed away I personally would have given up on music that night he was very encouraging to us both that night.

Hardest thing about being in a band?

It’s just a roller coaster of emotions at times and you put yourself out there so much.  Hard to keep it all together.

Interesting fact about one of your members?

Well one interesting fact about my brother and I is that we were both in the movie Hook as kids.  We were in the opening baseball scene.

Jokes you have in the band?

I wouldn’t say we have any jokes necessarily in my case (Timmy) some people might say I’m too serious most of the time or most people don’t get my sense of humor.

Key to writing a song?

Write from your heart and your experiences.

Longest distance you’ve travelled to play a show?

One time on Warped tour we left Santa Fe, New Mexico and had to be in Salt Lake City, Utah the next morning that would probably be the longest in the shortest time period.

Most inspiring musician you’ve experienced?

Not sure if this is an answer to that question specifically, but we played a couple shows with Strung Out back in the day and the singer was such a nice and humble down to earth dude that was just inspiring to me as a human.

New band you’d recommend?

Haven’t really stumbled across anything brand new recently.

Opening for this band would be ideal?

I would love to open up for Blink 182 they got me into this music and it would just be so fun.

Place you’d most like to tour?

I’d love to tour Europe.

Quote that you’d like to pass on to our readers?

Have a good day, But if you can’t have a good day enjoy the heck out of the bad one.

Reason for the title of your forthcoming release?

It is the street that my brother and I grew up on.

See us live at?

Hopefully a city near you soon, currently keep your eyes open in the Nashville TN area.

The old days of music were better than the current, do you agree?

I think the old days had some amazing pros when it comes to music, one of my favorites was getting an entire album listening to it front and back reading the liner notes and lyrics. Now music is very single driven but you can also do a lot on your own these days as a musician so I’d say they both have pros and cons.

Unusual merchandise?

We did a run of pop sockets and coffee mugs one time.

Variations you’d like to do on one of your songs?

I’d love to hear someone in a completely different genre cover one of our songs one day, like something really chill and laid back maybe even and Iron and Wine vibe.

What do your fans mean to you?

We’ve always had a quote never love a band that doesn’t love you back. Fans are everything if they didn’t support and love your music you wouldn’t be doing much. You just be making some music in your living room for yourself.

X-rays or any other treatments needed for band injuries?

We never had health insurance back in the day, so yes should there have been X-rays probably.

You’re late for a show, whose fault is it?

Whoever didn’t get ready on time, we’re pretty punctual though I hate being late.

Zoo animal that best describes the personality of your band?

A rhino we can be chill slow and steady but we can also kick the door in if we need to.
