After a stellar 2017, the 70’s inspired Clapton cowboys, Creatures, are set to release new material, play some festivals, and give us more of a taste of their western/cinematic music.
Last year saw them tour Europe with psychedelic rockers Temples, and release singles, Enola and Goldfinger. This year, the band have been toying with the idea of releasing an album, already having around 7 songs recorded, and they’ve also been confirmed for a few festivals – notably End of the Road.
Despite having only formed in early 2017, only a couple of months before their first shows with not even a full set of songs, the band already have a sizeable following, with fans eager for more.
Will from the band said, “Our shows with Temples were mad, they were really nice to us, it was just amazing. We met some really cool people and played some great shows. But it’s really nice that people are being patient about us releasing stuff. I know we’ve been quite slow to release stuff but it’s because hopefully we’re getting it right, and taking time to get the right tracks out. We’ve got a lot in the pipeline for this year.”
Their currently untitled single, set for release in early spring, will follow the same sorts of smooth, cinematic vibes fans know and love. When asked about their influences, Will said “we’re always showing each other new music, and just subconsciously taking it all in and getting influenced by it. But there’s a lot of 60s and 70s stuff, and we like sort of a dreamy cinematic feel which we try and put into our music. We like writing a lot of love songs, too.”
