In today’s A-Z challenge, we ask Beggars Bliss to tell us about themselves through our 26 question spectacular!
A song that made you want to make music?
Henry (guitar): You Know You’re Right – Nirvana.
Nirvana is the band that made our frontman want to pick up the guitar and write songs.
Chris (drums): Welcome to the Jungle – Guns N’ Roses.
This is the song that made our drummer fall in love with rock, pick up the guitar and eventually go on to learn drums.
Dan (bass): Wake Up – Rage Against The Machine.
All of this album had very prominent bass lines that made the bass stand out as an instrument and inspired him to learn.
Milly (keys): Cornflake Girl – Tori Amos.
Tori was a huge inspiration to our keys player. She was drawn to how much emotion and colour the piano could capture.
Best rider you’ve had?
A wheelie bin full of beer! Although, we did have to share this with the rest of the bands.
Craziest moment you’ve had in the band?
For the Peaches N’ Cream video, we got drunk and smashed a bunch of fruit with hammers, katanas and even a guitar! This was pretty fun.. We got to throw cream at our front man.
Deepest lyric one of your songs features?
Probably Rabbit Hole… The whole story of this song delves into self loathing so a few lyrics from this track could qualify. “I fall into myself again, down that rabbit hole of self-loathing”.
Easiest song you wrote?
Forbidden Fruit kind of wrote itself. It just came to life in the rehearsal room.
Favourite song in your set?
Every member has a different answer to this one. We love them all for different reasons.
Our bassist is a big fan of Dusk Till Dawn because it’s a beautiful moment of quiet in between the chaos. Our keys player chooses Spiralling because it’s such good fun to rock out to this one in a live scenario.
Guest you’d most like to feature on your record?
Matt Berry 100%. We toyed with trying to contact him for a skit on the album during recording, but decided we probably wouldn’t be able to pull something like this off yet.
Hardest thing about being in a band?
The farts. The farts in tight spaces.
Interesting fact about one of your members?
Our front man Henry has a third nipple.
Jokes you have in the band?
Our bassist Dan having sexy legs. He’s our secret weapon.
Key to writing a song?
Jammin’, jammin’ and more jammin’. Our songs come to life in the studio when we all get to bounce ideas off of each other. We trust each member to bring what’s needed for every element of the song so there’s a real judgment free space to get creative.
Longest distance you’ve travelled to play a show?
So far, London! We’re based in the midlands and set to do a lot more travelling for the album tour this year. In February 2027 we’ll be heading to the Brickyard in Carlisle for the first time to play the Rockmantic weekender, which will be the furthest we’ve travelled.
Most inspiring musician you’ve experienced?
Our bassist and drummer have both been lucky enough to see Prince live and highlight this as an inspiring experience. For our keys player it’s Alice Cooper. For our front man it’s Clutch’s Neil Fallon.
New band you’d recommend?
Our bassist is a big fan of Silly Goose. We’re also playing alongside Dead Zebras and Brightblack at Call Of The Wild festival this year who we’re all excited to watch!
Opening for this band would be ideal?
Opening for Clutch would be awesome, they’re a huge inspiration and great genre match for us.
Place you’d most like to tour?
We’d love to go to the US if we get the chance! We have a few US fans that we’d like to visit. Touring Japan would also be a really cool experience. We’ll happily go wherever the music takes us.
Quote you’d like to pass on to our readers?
These wise words of wisdom from Cypress Hill “Catch a ho, and another ho, merry christmas”
Reason for the title of your recent/forthcoming release?
It’s our first album so we opted for a self titled ‘Beggars Bliss’. It’s sort of a hello world collection of our favorites so far.

The old days of music were better than the current, do you agree?
It’s a trap! Don’t answer it!
Unusual merchandise?
The Beggars Bliss shiv.. We sometimes buy in mugs but they’re really easy to break so we joke about selling the shards. Of course we don’t really sell these! We do sell a lesser seen yellow t-shirt with the ‘Peaches N’ Cream’ artwork on it though.
Variations you’d like to do on any of your songs?
We’d really like to record an acoustic version of the debut album at some point. Our drummer also noted he would die happy if we got to do a collaboration with the Muppets.
What do your fans mean to you?
There’s nothing more awesome than seeing fans come out to support us at gigs. Especially when they’ve made the effort to travel out of their way. It’s great when the music really resonates with people and seeing Beggars in the crowd is always a mood boost. They’re also the only reason we’ve been able to produce this album, so they mean everything to us really. Without them, there would be no Beggars!
X-rays or any treatments needed for band related injuries?
Our drummer has had bloody hands after a few gigs when we’ve done a ‘stripped back’ set with a Cajon. Aside from this, we’ve managed to avoid any serious injuries so far!
You’re late for a show, whose fault is it?
Probably our keys player Milly, she’s definitely time blind but we love her regardless.
Zoo animal that best describes the personality of your band?
A ravenous rhinoceros! (‘Peaches N’ Cream’)
