Our A-Z challenge is a fun way to get to know the many bands and artists out there. Today its the turn of Archetypes Collide to tell us all about themselves.

A song that made you want to make music?

⁃ “Kings And Queens30 Seconds to Mars

Best rider you have had?

⁃ All we ever get is chips and salsa but we’ll take it in stride

Craziest moment in the band?

⁃ Went to a Wawa (gas station) in Jersey and heard gunshots from across the road and cars were peeling out. We dipped out asap lol

Deepest lyric one of your songs features?

⁃ “Everybody on a high but I feel like I can’t relate; different places every night but my heart’s in another state” – What If I Fall

Easiest song you wrote?

 Parasite, even from the early demos I feel like the song naturally wrote itself and the lyrics came together pretty quickly

Favourite song in your set?

⁃ Parasite, it’s non stop energy and the breakdown is huge

Guest you’d most like to feature on your record?

⁃ Hayley Williams

Hardest thing about being in a band?

⁃ Travel taking us away from friends and family at home. Although being able to see our fans, friends, and family in other states does help make it easier!

Interesting fact about one of your members?

⁃ Our guitarist Brandon is a kettle corn master-chef 👨🏻‍🍳

Jokes you have in the band?

⁃ Probably revolves around Ky trying to park a trailer or Jared not being able to sleep

Key to writing a song?

⁃ Don’t overthink it. Don’t over perfect it. If it sounds good then move on to the next part and keep it moving

Longest distance you’ve travelled to play a show?

⁃ Drove 30+ hours to play a 1-off festival in Daytona, Florida. Shoutout Rockville and DWP! 🤘🏻

Most inspiring musician you’ve experienced?

⁃ Dustin Kensrue, love his songwriting skills and his lyrics are on another level

New band you’d recommend?

⁃ Not really new but The Band Camino has been the jam lately

Opening for this band would be ideal?

⁃ Bring Me The Horizon 🙏🏻

Place you’d most like to tour?

⁃ Europe. Can’t wait to get over seas and see the world

Quote that you’d like to pass on to our readers?

⁃ “Could work” – me (circa 2020)

Reason for the title of your forthcoming release?

⁃ It’s all in the name (self-titled). We love to incorporate different genre archetypes and riff them up

See us live at?

⁃ this summer with Beartooth, Trivium, and Malevolence. Going all across the US. Gonna be huge

The old days of music were better than the current, do you agree?

⁃ no way. Every decade has bangers. I love to hear how people reinvent music but also to see how our influences and the music before them shaped us today

Unusual merchandise?

⁃ We’ve sold signed bloody drum heads  and sticks at shows. If you’re lucky we’ll have a fresh one on deck for your show

Variations you’d like to do on one of your songs?

⁃ Lofi remixes are the best. Check out our remix of “My Own Device” if you’re into that and the synth wave vibes!

What do your fans mean to you?

⁃ You all are the reason we exist to be honest. Meeting new people, hearing their stories, and building this Archetypes Collide family is something we can’t do without

X-rays or any treatments needed for band injuries?

⁃ only for Jared’s busted lungs so far. Excited to see what the future holds 😂

You’re late for a show, whose fault is it?

⁃ Probably me haha

Zoo animal that best describes the personality of your band?

⁃ A dairy cow. We’re cute and fun to be around but honestly we’re just here to work 💪🏻
