Pressures debut EP ‘Misery Loves Company’ showed that metalcore doesn’t have to be generic, they provided a mind blowing technical feast of heavy and powerful tracks which culminated in the EP becoming one of AltCorner’s favourite releases of this year. We caught up with Haris to talk about….everything!
Hello Pressures! How are you today?
Pretty good sir, yourself?
We are very good! So, how did pressures form and why ‘pressures’?
Pressures started as a small little project between Haris and Will. We both had big commitments to our careers yet we wanted to do something musically. So, the word “Pressures” seemed to fit.
Your sound is a very technical take on metalcore, how did you arrive at this unique formula of sound?
I don’t like the word ‘Metalcore’ It just makes us sound like every band today which is not our aim. Our aim is to be unique. We are a 4-piece and Will is very technical when it comes to writing his riffs, we all contribute. We also love hardcore, so we said whats wrong putting all these things we love in a song? Why don’t bands do this anymore? Overall, we all want to be daring with our sound, angry and crazy if you will.
As a band, what is your ultimate goal? A specific festival you’d like to play?
Our aim is to have fun. Just this use as an emotional outlet for ourselves and share the riffs we love to make.
We would love to play a huge festival, give us anything and we will play it.
Misery Loves Company was one of our favourite releases of 2014, where do you go from that? New Album in 2015?!
Thank you very much! Glad to hear that! We are planning a Music video at the moment. We have already starting writing new material, so we just have to see where it goes, definitely expect a new release in 2015 at some point. It could an Album or it could be a lengthy EP. We will see
Lastly, if you could have one person join you on stage who would it be?
Oooooh tough one!
Phil Bozeman from Whitechapel just comes into mind to be honest!
