HOT TAKES: Getting to know Tijuana Bibles

Welcome to the feature; Hot Takes! We chat to a band or artist that we have unearthed as some what of a hidden gem and allow them the chance to introduce themselves to you, the reader.

Q1 – Who is in your band?

Tony (vocals) & Danny Costello (bass), Mikey Dornan (drums) and James Brannigan. (Guitar).

Q2 – What is your take on your own sound?

Glaswegian garage post-punk with social commentary and storytelling.

Q3 – If someone was listening to your music for the first time, what song would you tell them to listen to and why?

Stateless is a good first introduction to Tijuana Bibles, as its the opening track on the album and lays the foundation of everything to come afterwards. It doesn’t hang around longer than it needs to and hits like a buffalo from the first beat.

Q4 – What is the plan for the rest of 2023?

Plans for the rest of 2023 will be launching our debut record and playing to a hometown crowd for our launch show. Heading into 2024, we’ll be gearing up to record the next record and touring as much as possible.

Q5 – What is the one song you wish you wrote?

In a Sentimental Mood’ by Duke Ellington.

Q6 – What three bands inspired or continue to inspire you the most?

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Iggy Pop & The Stooges and Mark E Smith & The Fall.

Q7 – Where can our readers see you live or listen to your music?

Live, you’ll be able to catch us up and down the country next year when announce tour dates. Music is available in stores and wherever you stream from.

Q8 – If your band was an animal, what would it be and why?

Thats an easy one. Turritopsis Nuticula, The immortal jellyfish. Sounds cool and lives forever!
