HOT TAKES: Getting To Know HOLYGOOD! | FEATURE

Welcome to the feature; Hot Takes! We chat to a band or artist that we have unearthed as some what of a hidden gem and allow them the chance to introduce themselves to you, the reader.

We chat to alternative rock band HOLYGOOD who are from Birmingham/London in the UK. We’ve kept a keen eye on their development and we cite them as a definitive band to cast your eye over in 2019. Fresh on their tour with Busted, we caught up with the band. Below you can read our quick chat with the band:

Q1: Who is in your band?

Tohm, Drew, Rob & TH.

Q2: What is your take on your own sound?

I suppose what we create is always changing and evolving, as we as people get older and change. I’ve always written from a very subjective viewpoint, from an emotional place so I think that’s the constant in our sound, emotional honesty. And guitars.

Q3: If you someone was listening to your music for the first time, what song would you tell them to listen to and why?

Listen to “Oh No!” partly because it’s the only song that we have released so far! But also because it’s an awesome tune, it’s got tons of energy and gives a vibe of what we’re all about.

Q4: What is the plan for 2019?

We’ve got lots more music written and recorded that we’ll be releasing, and we’ll be playing lots of shows. OH MY GOOOOOD IMISSPLAYINGSHOWSSOFUCKINGBADLYFDJCJKMNDAKLSAFHJFShjd

Q5: What is the one song you wish you wrote?

Oh damn. There are SO many songs that I wish I’d written. I wish I’d written “Black Balloon” by the Goo Goo Dolls, that song just hits me so hard.

Q6: What three bands inspired or continue to inspire you the most?

My Chemical Romance
Fightstar
The 1975

Q7: Where can our readers see you live or listen to your music?

We’re doing some huge arena shows with Busted which will be bloody mental, and then we have a few other things up our sleeve that we will be announcing soon. And you can find us on all the usual places on the Internet.

Q8: If your band was an animal, what would it be and why?

We’d be a unicorn, because then we would be the first unicorn in existence. That’d be tight.
