Hot Takes: Getting to know Ghost Iris

Welcome to the feature; Hot Takes! We chat to a band or artist that we have unearthed as some what of a hidden gem and allow them the chance to introduce themselves to you, the reader.

Q1 – Who is in your band?

Daniel and Nicklas: Guitar
Sebastian: Drums

Jesper: Vocals & Lyrics

Q2 – What is your take on your own sound?

Ghost Iris is a mishmash of contrasts. We’re all about not settling for one particular sound. Music is our playground and we’re all a bunch of kids.

Q3 – If someone was listening to your music for the first time, what song would you tell them to listen to and why?

I personally would ask them to listen a song from our upcoming album “comatose” called “ebb//flow”. It’s quite the unique song on the album and I think people will welcome it, as it is a breath of fresh air.

Q4 – What is the plan for 2021?

Well, if this circus that exists currently will allow it, we would like to tour again. A lot, preferably.  Other than that, it’s time to write new music once again as “comatose” is out on May 7.

Q5 – What is the one song you wish you wrote?

The ElijahI Loved. A more heartfelt, beautifully depressing and haunting song does not exist.

Q6 – What three bands inspired or continue to inspire you the most?

In Ghost Iris we swear to the “3 M’s”: Meshuggah, Misery Signals and Michael Jackson.

All very special and unique acts. Completely embodying their own unique sound.

Q7 – Where can our readers see you live or listen to your music?

If covid allows it, they can experience us live in UK, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary this autumn / winter.

You can find our music anywhere and everywhere on all streaming platforms.

Q8 – If your band was an animal, what would it be and why?

A chameleon, because we sometimes disguise ourselves with a heavy breakdown and then morph into a beautiful catchy chorus.
