A will be doing a run of instore shows in line with the release of new album Prang (May 22, Cooking Vinyl).

The band said: “Alright everyone, we’ve read your comments… we’re going to be taking PRANG on the road this May, playing some shows at some of the best record stores in the UK. We’ll be playing a set filled with songs, new and old, followed by a session meeting all of you, signing your records and taking photos… how ace is that?

“Honestly, the fact you’ve stuck with us and waited 21 years for a new record… means more than we can put into words. So it feels really important to get out there, do this properly, and thank you in person.”

The band said: “We loved our Introducing! run of shows – as in LOVED – that was collectively the favourite week of our lives… so it was time to take the next step and go on the road again. Hendrik came up with the name when we were at dinner yesterday in Tokyo, as this tour really feels like us taking the next step… We are buzzing to add new music to the set list and get back on the tour bus and on the road.”

Hayden Thorpe will be touring in the U.K. later this year. He will be playing some of the Wild Beasts songbook for the first time in nine years.

Hayden said: “I’m fortunate enough that in my daily life I will quite often encounter a kind soul who’ll tell me how much a certain Wild Beasts song, album or show has meant to them. I’ve come to learn that as time passes, the heart’s connections do not fade and the potency of the music remains strong.

“I’ve been missing the songs myself of late, so it felt like a ripe time to reach for the high notes and call on my hand’s muscle memory. It’s a full-circle manoeuvre as the dates perfectly align with the 20th anniversary of Wild Beasts first single release, “Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants”.

“The venue choices are also very deliberate. Each room played an important role in the history of the band. Brewery Arts was our cultural HQ growing up in Kendal, Hoxton Hall was the scene of a breakthrough show for our second album ‘Two Dancers’ and Brudenell Social Club will always be where we came of age as musicians.

“I’m thrilled to be taking this moment to celebrate the shared history we all have with Wild Beasts music.”
