Indie band Pentire will release their second EP Love on TV on January 31, 2025.

Frontman Jack Morgan said: “The creation of this EP has seen both love and loss, and so it naturally has a little piece of each of us woven between the lyrics and melodies. It represents the last 15 months of our lives, on the road and in the studio, and we couldn’t be more happy with it.”

Bradley Simpson – The Panic Years

Bradley Simpson will release debut album The Panic Years on February 28, 2025.

The album focuses on Bradley’s experiences of life, love, lust and learning.

Bradley said: “I hope these songs and stories can help them navigate those experiences. They can become the soundtrack to their lives, whether they’re dancing, crying, going out or whatever it is. It really feels like an opportunity to let them into a side of my life that I haven’t shared before.”

Vocalist/guitarist Ryan Smith said: “I felt very constrained writing a certain type of music to fit the genre [we were known for] but something lifted and I felt more free to create what I want.

“And what I seem to be doing at the moment is a lot of electronic music – taking influence from different spans of electronica, from dance music to ambient and more experimental sources.”

Eric Bass – I Had a Name

Credit: Sanjay Parikh

Shinedown’s Eric Bass will release his debut album I Had a Name on February 21, 2025.

The record is a concept album.

Eric said: “We live in a world right now where music gets homogenized and maybe everything sounds and feels the same. I wanted to create something different and I hope listeners hear that.

Lyrically and emotionally I hope it empowers them and they can see themselves in the characters and stories I sing about.

We all go through dark times and hardships, but there’s always a way out. I think that’s what being a human being is about. I feel like Earth is a test and we’re here to prove ourselves, go through things and come out better on the other side.

“I’ve spoken about my struggles with depression and neurodivergent issues before.

“When I finished writing this record, I looked back at these characters I’ve created and realized I’d written the most autobiographical record of my life, which wasn’t conscious as I was writing it.

“The album is an epic odyssey. I don’t want mental health to be an ‘angle’ that obscures that.

“But I don’t mind talking about it. Anytime I talk about it, I hope it’s helpful to someone else.

Hands Like Houses – ATMOSPHERICS

Hands Like Houses will release new album ATMOSPHERICS on February 14, 2025, through Civilians!

It is a 16 track double album split into four parts – Tropo(sphere), Strato(sphere), Meso(sphere) and Thermo(sphere).

It is the first album to feature the band’s new frontman Josh Raven.

“The idea for Atmospherics came during one of the low parts of our career” say Joel Tyrrell.

“Everything we knew had been swept away, and we really didn’t know if we would continue on as a band so we had to dig deep together and talk about what we wanted. Some of our happiest moments have been with the band so we wanted to re-shape our future.

“The idea of floating through the different layers of the atmosphere to see what we could all see, hear and create together painted such a nice picture for how things were flowing with the introduction of our new singer, Josh.  Volume wasn’t the goal, but the spark had been lit and the idea’s were flowing, so we just kept adding layers to the Atmosphere. We have removed the pressure we used to place on ourselves.

The songs didn’t have to fit a sound for an album, it can just exist as a moment in time, for that particular layer of the atmosphere.

Welly – Big in the Suburbs

Welly will release debut album Big in the Suburbs on March 21, 2025.

On the titular track’s place in the album, Welly said: This is the market stall for the album, the contents page, the intro sequence, the theme song. Think the intro to Thomas The Tank Engine. We meet our motley crew in each verse the neighbours, the foul families, the love interests, the ugly pets.”

On the album itself, Welly said: I could say something very clever about suburban tableaus, provincial minuets, the motifs of traffic, dead end roads and big fish in small ponds, but that would be silly. This is the childs first painting going on the fridge. Im very proud of this. Its fun, and music hasnt been fun for a long time, especially British music. This is a lob in the right direction. It took 6 years to write and 6 weeks to record. The band and I did it all ourselves at my Dads house in Scotland. Its DIY and not out of choice, but out of budget. Charity shop instruments, solid gold mentalities.

Tracklist:

Big In The Suburbs
Home For The Weekend
Knock And Run
Deere John
Soak Up The Culture
Shopping
Cul-De-Sac

“Coming off of Eviscerate, Mend feels like the other side of the same coin – a fierce, powerful continuation of the themes that shape our work. If this track is just the beginning, we’re ready to take listeners to places they’ve never been with us before.”
