PIJN will release new album From Low Beams of Hope on June 28 through Floodlit Recordings.

Guitarist/producer Joe Clayton said: “From Low Beams of Hope is an album with more of an abstract feel than our previous records.

“Where Floodlit and Loss were a very focused reaction to grief, From Low Beams Of Hope came from an attempt to get perspective on the passage of life, thematically and sonically embracing our own experiences in an attempt to create something that can feel at once uplifting and exciting, vulnerable and reflective, yet was made in fragmented and difficult surroundings.”

Charlotte Wessels will release new album The Obsession on September 20 through Napalm Records.

On the album, Charlotte said: “On the one hand, this album tells a very personal story – through its unintended theme of fear, obsessive thoughts and the escapes from them – and at the same time it represents the joy of finding the songs’ true forms with everyone involved in the making of this record.

“That’s why I chose The Obsession as a title. It refers to my personal challenges with OCD that inspired many of the songs – but I’ve also started referring to the band as The Obsession – because there were moments in the studio with them that truly reminded me of why I’m obsessed with making music in the first place.”

The Used will release Medz, a collection of B-sides, on June 21 through Big Noise.

Vocalist robbietheused shared a quote from C.S. Lewis to give a deeper meaning to the collection of b-sides: “Mental pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and also more hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden: it is easier to say “My tooth is aching” than to say ‘My heart is broken.’”
