Q1 – Who is in your band?
We are sisters, Nyrobi (19yrs) and Chaya (16yrs).
Q2 – What is your take on your own sound?
Our music visits the worlds of Nu Metal, Trap Metal, Punk, DnB and Electronica. Sometimes we even throw in a bit of Opera! So as you can imagine we sometimes struggle to describe our sound – but the one genre that runs through it all is Rock.
Q3 – If someone was listening to your music for the first time, what song would you tell them to listen to and why?
I’d say listen to Freak Show – which is the title track of our EP that dropped September 1st. Freak Show has a perfect blend our two personalties with my harder rap, beautifully heavy guitar riffs, and the sweet voice of my little sis.
Q4 – What is the plan for 2023?
Our 2023 has been a blast so far! Earlier this year we were flown out to Switzerland to perform. We sold out our first headline show in our home town of Notts. We performed at Glastonbury, Boomtown fair and Headlined the BBC Introducing stages at Reading and Leeds Festivals.
Now, we’re looking forward to promoting the release of our EP and we have a support slots with Lord Of The Lost at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. We also have a – soon to be announced – support slot with a brilliant alternative artist coming up and another cheeky little surprise in October! So keep watching this space.
Q5 – What is the one song you wish you wrote?
I (Nyrobi) wish I wrote ‘I Was Just a Kid’ by Nothing But Thieves. Chaya wishes she wrote ‘What Was I Made For?’ by Billie Eilish – but we wouldn’t want to perform it any different because they both already sound perfect to us.
Q6 – What three bands inspired or continue to inspire you the most?
We loooove, love, love The Prodigy. Their fire and energy is what we want to bring to our music and performances. Also, Stromae for his unapologetic weird and wonderful. He thinks big and his performances, music videos and vision are just huge.
We very much admire Ashnikko too.
Q7 – Where can our readers see you live or listen to your music?
We have a headline show coming up in Notts on 3rd of November at Rock City Beta. We’d love to see your readers there <3 And of course, if you’re in London come and check us out at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
Q8 – If your band was an animal, what would it be and why?
We’d have to be a mystical double-headed dragon to represent the two of us. We want to give our audiences warmth or a blast of fire through our music.
