Deathwell – In My Saddest Dreams I Am Beside You

Deathwell’s new record In My Saddest Dreams I Am Beside You will be released on October 20 through Prosthetic Records.

vocalist KZ Staska comments: “We invested an insane amount of detail and care into every aspect of this album and cannot wait to share it with you. In My Saddest Dreams, I Am Beside You is an exploration of interpersonal relationships and how they are impacted by mental illness, particularly Borderline Personality Disorder, and employs a loose conceptual narrative following a character caught in a waking dream, viewing every aspect of his life through the lens of a heavily distorted reality and struggling to escape from his paranoid nightmares.”

Beartooth – The Surface

Beartooth will release their new album The Surface on October 13 through Red Bull Records.

“Beartooth’s entire discography has been snapshots of my inner monologue and emotional state over the years with a recurring theme: depression and self-loathing,” says Shomo. “It’s been tough to understand why I’ve felt the way I do for so long. During the pandemic, I was faced with two distinct paths in life. One — I continue doing nothing to manage the realities of my mental health and continue down a path of self-destruction, ultimately ending in my demise. Two — choose to do the work needed to maintain a healthier relationship with myself, no matter how difficult or painful.”

He continues, “This album is the story of my beginnings in the new world I’ve created for myself. One focused on health, self love, positivity, understanding, hard work, and most of all second chances. At the end of the day, life is short for all of us. We can’t escape the end, so why not make friends with it and live in a world focused on living a personally fulfilling life.”

The Gaslight Anthem will release new album History Books – their first in nine years – on October 27.

“We didn’t have any interest in reinventing what The Gaslight Anthem sounds like,” Brian Fallon reveals. “We wanted to stay true to ourselves but also let Peter do what he does best, which is to make things sound beautiful and sad and fun and exciting all at the same time.”

“When you have a band reach any level of success or popularity, that’s a gift.  It’s truly a miracle to be able to do your art for a living.  Having the band come this far and be able to still find inspiration and connection in our music is a treasure.  We’re thrilled to be back, and we thank you for allowing us time to regroup.”

BEX – Scum

Sadness & Complete Disappointment – GBH

Sadness and Complete Disappointment will release new EP GBH on November 3.

Drummer and lead vocalist Esmee Baker says of the EP “We are all crushed by depression pretty much day in and day out, and this EP is apparently what happens when you put four people who are really sick of living in one room together with some instruments they can just about play. Thematically, very on brand, our main thing is sadness – but with a glimmer of hope (which will inevitably at some point lead to disappointment). The first producer we approached essentially said we were too shit to tarnish his name with, but this ended up being a blessing in disguise as Will from Goliath Sound took us on and was a total dreamboat.”

Nervosa – Jailbreak

Nervosa will release new album Jailbreak on September 29 through Napalm Records!

Prika Amaral comments on the new single and album: “I’m very happy with the result of this song and our new album.  I always wanted to have a song like this but it never happened for different reasons and now we can finally make it happen.  Also, we were able to take even more risks and do new things. With two guitars the doors open to a whole new world of possibilities, in fact Nervosa had two guitars in the beginning, but then we decided to go with one guitar for logistical reasons, since it would be easier to move with one less person for tours.  Now Nervosa has a much bigger structure that allowed this addition, and we are really enjoying this moment of the band. The process of writing this record was the most fun and brought the most musicality, enriching the band.”

Guitarist Helena Kotina adds: “I think Jailbreak is Nervosa‘s most revolutionary record, both musically and lyrically.  It was a very challenging process but at the same time very constructive. We were able to take care of every detail until we obtained the best result”

Twin Temple – God is Dead

Credit: Travis Shinn

Twin Temple will release new album God is Dead on October 13.

The duo said: “Despite relentless death threats and moralizing, our allegiance to Satan and the golden oldies remains unwavering. ‘God Is Dead’ is our most blasphemous, horny and painstakingly period-correct work to date. Saturated with the blood of babies, and forged in the ashes of burning churches, we spared no one in the making of this album. See you in Hell!”

Fangs Out – The Humour in Hell

Fangs Out will release new record The Humour in Hell on October 6.

Frontman Mikey White said: “I’ve always been the type of person to use humour and jokes to deal with difficult situations, or as a defence mechanism, instead of dealing with things head on. In my approach to lyrics I’m no different.
Most of the songs on the EP deal with some personal – and at times pretty heavy – subject matter (except Sabbath Town – that’s just about the band raging in Birmingham) but portrayed in a very tongue-in-cheek way.
It might not be healthiest way to deal with things, but it’s my way of trying to find the light in the darkness or The Humour in Hell.”
