Ever wondered what your favourite artists think is the best song they’ve written? How about the meaning behind it? Well don’t fret because we at AltCorner have got you covered! Here The Pariah‘s vocalist Henning takes us behind the scenes on his favourite song!
What is your favorite song you’ve written?
At the moment it’s “Monolith“.
What inspired the song?
I wanted to have a track with this uptempo beat partially broken down by some heavier riffs. Since it’s the first track after the intro of No Truth, I wanted to settle one, and maybe the only, true fact which is that all life will come to an end. Although we can’t deny that fact, it’s incredibly hard for us to accept it. Maybe because we know that it’s true and we can’t change anything about it.
What is it about the track that makes it special to you?
On the one hand it’s because there was a time when I really made up my mind about the topic. I had to learn that being worried about something I can’t change won’t get me further in life. On the other hand it’s about how the song was written. I only had one chord at the beginning and the whole song kinda grew around it. It only took one or two days to write the song and after recording the first preproduction-version it was barely changed. Not many of our songs are written this fast, haha.
