REVIEW: Fit For a King – Lonely God
Fit For a King coming up on almost 20 years as a band and honestly, it’s impressive how consistent they’ve remained throughout their career. Everyone has their favourite records of course; but FFAK’s discography is one that I’ve majorly only heard praise for and considering they’re coming up on their 8th full-length album; that isn’t something you find in a whole lot of bands. They have continuously tweaked and polished their sound without straying too far from their strengths and this remains the case for their upcoming LP Lonely God. The record contains everything their fans would want out of a FFAK project and more, finding the band not only in a stride but with the addition of some new flavours as well.
REVIEW: Fox Lake – New World Heat
Fox Lake have made quite the name for themselves over the last few years. Coming out of Denver in 2017, Fox Lake have established a chaos of sound that blurs the lines between metalcore, hardcore, hip-hop and nu-metal. Back in 2023 is when I personally came across the band with the explosive Fear and Loathing EP which not only became one of my favourite releases that year, but it also made its waves across the metalcore and hardcore communities relentlessly. Now, two years later the band have signed with MNRK Heavy and have released sophomore album New World Heat.
REVIEW: Cherie Amour – Chrome Hearts
Cherie Amour are a 4-piece nu-punk/post-hardcore band out of Baltimore. They dropped their debut record Spiritual Ascension back in 2022 and remained relentlessly active; dropping another EP titled Some Songs only a year later in 2023. Come 2024, Eons was released which would turn out to be the first single from their new record Chrome Hearts. There’s a very obvious growth between their debut and sophomore record; Spiritual Ascension though had some hints of what the band would come to be, was still very much more of a punk record; Chrome Hearts shows the band really finding their sound and establishing where their home is sonically.
REVIEW: Wolves at the Gate – Wasteland
Wolves At The Gate are a 5-piece metalcore outfit coming out of Ohio; their career spanning across almost 20 years and 6 records, I find it almost criminal that they’re still as underrated as they are. Especially considering how incredible their works are. Now in 2025 the band is ready to release their 7th album Wasteland.
REVIEW: Arm’s Length – There’s a Whole World Out There
If you aren’t familiar with Arm’s Length, they’re a 4-piece emo/pop-punk band out of Ontario, Canada. They’ve been on quite the grind since their debut album Never Before Seen, Never Again Found back in 2022.

I think LUMENS have the potential to skyrocket not only with this release, but within the next year. I found a new favourite band, and now it’s time for you to discover yours.
REVIEW: Silverstein – Antibloom
Being a band for 25 years and remaining as consistent as Silverstein have been is no small feat. Always continuously pushing their sound further while keeping it fresh and up to date. Really honing into their heavy side with their last outing Misery Made Me while retaining the pop punk sound that everyone loves. This trajectory continues with their new effort Antibloom, one of two records they’ll be releasing this year.
REVIEW: Coping Method – Where Spirit Meets Bone
It’s rare you get to catch a band as early as I’ve stumbled upon Coping Method. Having only released an EP, followed by a few singles; their catalog is only getting started. The growth between their first release to now is apparent though. We’re seeing a band flesh out their sound in real time and it’s a treat to see. Now we’re in 2024 and the band is ready to release their debut record Where Spirit Meets Bone.
REVIEW: Rain City Drive – Things Are Different Now
If you’ve followed Rain City Drive for a while, it’s come clear that they’re definitely one of those bands that you know what you’re getting with each release; which is a great thing. Things Are Different Now is another great record in the rock-pop/post-hardcore sound that they’ve found their home in, albite bringing some grit back that I think was missing on their last outing.
REVIEW: Void of Vision – What I’ll Leave Behind
Void of Vision have been on gas the pedal the last few years. In the middle of recording their 3 EP series back in 2022, vocalist Jack Bergin was dealing with some serious health concerns but instead of taking a step back, the band went to record a music video, go on tour and come home to finish their 3rd EP of 2022. Throughout this endeavor is when Bergin got the original idea for What I’ll Leave Behind; originally meant to be a concept record but those plans were scrapped when Bergin had to undergo an immediate surgery due to a ruptured AVM. It was during this time when Bergin did a lot of internal retrospection and what ultimately made him decide to change the trajectory of the LP.
REVIEW: To the Grave – Everyone’s a Murderer
To the Grave have been garnering lots of success over the past few years and it’s easy to see why. Their 4th LP Everybody’s a Murder is out now.
REVIEW: FOXCULT – THE AMETHYST DRIFT
Seattle based post-hardcore/shoegaze band FOXCULT have gained lots of traction within the past year on social media, now they’ve released EP THE AMETHYST DRIFT.
REVIEW: Stand Atlantic – WAS HERE
There’s something in the water over there in Australia. From Sydney, Stand Atlantic are really an underrated gem that more people should know about. I discovered the band back in 2022 with their immaculate 3rd album f.e.a.r, now 2 years later they’re gearing up for the release of their new record WAS HERE. This record sees the band channeling a much darker/more aggressive sound this time around, I’d describe it as a more metal-leaning and dark pop vibe sonically. Changing your sound is always a risk, but I’m happy to say that it definitely paid off here.
REVIEW: Windwaker – Hyperviolence
Windwaker are back with sophomore album Hyperviolence, two years after their incredible debut record Love Language. Windwaker have proved they’re something special and this record only highlights further that they aren’t a one trick pony.
