Delilah Bon has released a fantastic single called Not the President.
The track reflects Delilah’s views on the recent election in the US, as well as her fans’ reaction, particularly females and the LGBTQ+ community.
Delilah said: “I had people reaching out, telling me my music gave them hope in a world that felt like it was taking a hundred steps back.
“The messages were overwhelming—some of them had never felt so alone or afraid for their safety.”
“I cried the entire set at my Bristol show at The Exchange in November,” which was just a couple of days after the US election. Delilah recalls.
“Looking out at that beautiful, diverse crowd, seeing so many people from all walks of life screaming the lyrics, feeling a sense of safety and belonging— it pushed me over the edge. The hate I was seeing online, the hurt people were feeling, it made me want to combust with rage. But I realised that the world needs more than just rage right now. We need hope. The single artwork is a photo from that show. I will always remember that gig and the mutual love in that room.”
