Weatherstate go all Green Day on us as their new single Medicate pays homage to the legendary punk trio’s hit Basket Case!
“It’s about being overly reliant on a crutch to get through certain situations, whether that be socially, medicinally, or emotionally,” says vocalist and guitarist Harry Hoskins of the track. “We wrote this around the same timeframe as ‘Sympathy’. Honestly, this one all fell into place naturally. We just wanted to write a ripper.”
Green Day‘s Mike Dirnt even praised the quartet on their brilliant single.
Medicate is taken from the band’s debut album Born A Cynic (May 10, Failure By Design Records).
