Marisa And The Moths have released a great single called Gaslight.
The single draws from personal experiences of gaslighting and manipulation in a relationship.
“My ex distorted my reality for so long that I lost my sense of self. I stopped trusting intuition and felt so disconnected from everything,” says Marisa Rodriguez, lead vocalist.
“But this song is about the strength I found, and the mental clarity I regained coming out of that struggle.”
On the video she adds: “Whilst there were “warp-like” effects used on the shots, the simplicity of the video was purposeful. I felt like I had to change who I was in the relationship I was in in order to be loved. Now I know that all I ever had to do was to be myself, and just NOT with that person! So no more hiding behind facades. I’m reclaiming my narrative. I hope that anyone else that has dealt with similar traumatic relationships finds power in hearing this song.”
