VEXXES – Common Ground (EP)

Overall this EP is definitely worth a listen, loved all of these tracks! I would love to hear these songs live, hopefully sometime in the future I can come along to a local gig! Overall rating, I’d give them 9/10!

Vexxes are an Alternative Rock Band from Leeds consisting of 4 members. Vexxes have released their collection of mini-anthems that is their debut EP ‘Common Ground’.  With a newly announced tour this June, we can’t wait to see what they bring to the stage!

The first track on the EP is “Lead Us Home“, this song is a great one to kick start the EP!! The vocals fit perfectly for this track and genre of music. The guitar riff is insane and the drum beat is very catchy! I love the lyrics to this track to, I’d rate it a strong 9/10 for a first track!

Convictions” is the second track on this EP, the start sounds very familiar and sounds like something I’ve heard before but when the vocals begin, it becomes my favourite track of the EP. I listened to the song with a smile from the first second to the last – there is something about those vocals that just please my ears!

Everything I’ve Ever Known” as a track starts very fast and upbeat with a nice rhythm. The drums are so fast and full on, so when the vocals hit, they just seem a bit misplaced. I’m not so keen on the lyrics when it comes to this song. None the less, the guitars are sounding sick in this and I this is still a great addition to the EP.

Enemies” WOW! Sounding very good here, guitars are on point. Also loving the lyrics in this track! A bit repetitive but overall I’m liking it and definitely sticks in your brain after a few listens.

My name is Kirsty Johnston and I come from a Village called Bothwell. I have a such a tickle for Pop-punk and my favourite band is Neck Deep. I attend New College Lanarkshire studying music business in the hope to worm my way into the industry setting up live events. I am not afraid to spit out my honest opinion but I love everyone.
