They may be known as intergalactic circus freaks but there is nothing circusy (yes I just made up a word) about Sick N’ Beautiful’s latest musical effort Element Of Sex. It’s a sure fire rock record, fill of whiskey soaked riffs and catchy hooks from start to end. Opener Fire True is every bit the modern rock anthem, while single Megalomanical combines hard rock rhythm with electric synths. The atmospheric opening to All I Wanna Go To Heaven mixes things up and the minimalist instrumentation allows the entrancing vocals to shine through before it turns into another catchy rock track with an earworm chorus and captivating guitar solo.
HeXxX (The Element Of Sex) will be the worst song for you to listen to on this record if you hate having a track in your head for extended periods of time because the repetitiveness of the lyrics and the insanely catchy chorus will be in your head for at least a week. Plus it’s a bit of a science lesson by telling us just what the element of sex is (disclaimer; we’re not entirely sure how accurate it is as we’re not scientists, but we’ll go with it). This is a good dancey rock track.
Element Of Sex is a strong record and one that will go down well with a wide range of music fans.
