London punks Pretty Pistol are back with a ferocious EP, ‘Welcome to the Dead Club‘. The brutal 4-track EP throws you into the deep end straight away, as ‘CRY WOLF CRY WOLF’ is screamed into to your ears with urgent drums and grungy guitars thrashing in the background. Your ears feel attacked in the best way. We’re off to a good start.

The band are fierce, fearless, and fantastic as they take you through their ever energetic songs, with influence from riot grrrl they prove that female vocalists can do punk just as well as guys – if not better. Laura Le Rox is powerful throughout the EP, delivering every word with an immense savagery, atop Emma Waller on fast paced drums, Billy Larsen playing huge riffs on guitar, and the insanely talented Rich Cooper on bass.

The band do so much with just four short tracks – it’s maybe not an EP with the most variety in the world (Drive Me to the Dogs is probably the most variety you’ll find on this EP with it’s slightly darker feel), but that doesn’t at all take away from the buckets of talent evidently present here. It’s a great listen for lovers of punk music, and it’ll have you shouting along in your bedroom.
