ALTERNATIVE MUSIC REVIEWS

COLD SUMMER – FIGHT TO SURVIVE

According to their biography on their website, this EP is described as "their most refined and anger driven music to date". This type of tag line builds up a lot of optimism for this release so lets see how it fared...

Tiger Army – V| Track by Track

Tiger Army are a rock and roll American band based in Los Angeles, California. Since their arrival in 1996, TIGER ARMY have drawn critical praise from the New York Times, performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, had a No. 1 Most Requested Song on influential LA radio station KROQ with the single 'Forever Fades Away', not to mention sharing stages with artists such as Morrissey and Social

The Scenes and Beasts, The Buff Club, Glasgow

For today's gig I headed over to the Buff Club Glasgow. It is one of those venues that you never forget when you go there as there is always a lingering smell of vomit in the upstairs venue...however, this odd inclusion was not a reflection of tonight's performances...

Forever Still, Rebellion Manchester

Heading over to the Rebellion in Manchester, I was excited to see one of the bands that had blew me away last year...Forever Still.

Architects – All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us

Architects, are a five piece hardcore band from Brighton, formed over a decade ago back in 2004, the band have now finally released their epic seventh album, 'All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us.' And if you're a big fan of their previous album, 'Lost Forever // Lost Together' then you'll definitely be a fan of this eleven track killer.

Upload Festival 2016

Before I start my review I would like to say that the UK needs more festivals like this one. It is rare that you will see such a great line up on a festival bill, especially one that has some of the best unsigned / DIY bands in the UK, so with anticipated excitement I took the long drive down to Wakefield for the first ever Upload Festival at Warehouse23.

Issues @ Y Plas 24/05/2016

When headliners, Issues took to the stage, the room erupted into raucous applause, whistles and screams from the many adoring fans...

Glass Giants/Adelphia/Everybody Looks Famous @ Clwb Ifor Bach

It's a bittersweet night in Cardiff as Adelphia hit the infamous Womanby Street venue with fellow touring bands Everybody Looks Famous and Glass Giants. It's bittersweet as the latter are taking an extended break and tonight doubles up as their hometown show. So for tonight, they take to the stage as headliners.

For I Am King – ‘Daemons’ | Album

I really would struggle to pick a favourite song, but highlights have to be Interlude, Hades, We Must Obey, and Breathe The Fire; but every song on the 10-track album packs a punch and had me headbanging in my tiny university room.

The Dollyrots – Family Vacation (Live in L.A)

We took a listen to the Dollyrots new live album, Family Vacation. Look inside to see what we thought...

Only Shadows – Be Still (Single)

Formed in late 2014, Only Shadows have been described as one of the "UK's most exciting rising bands" by BBC introducing. 2016 is set to be a big year of the guys who will release their debut EP in the spring. They have just recently released their single "Be Still" along with a music video for the track.

CITY OF ASHES – RISE

As I said before, Rise would definitely be something I'd recommend if you're into 30 Seconds To Mars. And although I said the influence was clear, City Of Ashes are still very much original in their music. Remember, inspiration isn't always copying, and I hope City Of Ashes get themselves signed soon.

Griever – Soul Searcher

Griever are a melodic-death metal/metalcore genre-bending quintet. Their sound is reminiscent of the likes of Trivium, Gothenburg Sound, Malefice and In Flames and they perfectly fit the gap for consistent metal butchery. The band's forthcoming release Soul Searcher aims to prove exactly why the quintet have been shit-hot on the metal scene since their formation.

Waterparks – Cluster

Not a lot has been mentioned of Waterparks over this side of the pond just yet but with the release of EP Cluster on May 27 (just in time for their Slam Dunk festival appearances and London headline show!) they are hoping that is about to change.

Doomsday Outlaw – ‘Suffer More’ Album

Doomsday Outlaw are a 5 piece hard-rock band from Derbyshire. Suffer More is their 14-track sophomore album and it’s amazing.
