FVK @ Underworld, Camden | Live Review

It’s a sad day in Camden as the Lost Hearts descend in their droves to the Underworld to say goodbye to FVK.

It’s a sad day in Camden as the Lost Hearts descend in their droves to the Underworld to say goodbye to FVK.

First up was Bristol rockers Ashestoangels, the band, getting in the Halloween spirit with their fancy dress outfits (the sight of frontman Crilly in a wedding dress will never leave me). They get the crowd going as they power through tracks old and new, including The Wake and Six Six Six. The energy throughout their set is good, with constant moving, on point vocals and great guitar work.

Up next is Zoax. They have the crowd hanging off their every word but personally they don’t do it for me. I don’t know exactly what it is but I just didn’t feel it. Again there is very good energy and stage presence.

Finally FVK take to the stage and head straight into it! A very strong set list and performance. Both Laurence Beveridge and Kier Kemp’s vocals are very strong and both work the crowd well as they play tracks including Could We Burn Darling, Palace in Flames, P-train, Maeby and Bite Down On My Winchester. Emotions run high when Regret is dedicated to late tour manager Steve Dillon and again on final song, the very apt City Falls To Dust. While it is an emotional night, there is also an element of a party atmosphere in the air, celebrating the life of a great band who have and will continue to help hundreds of people with their music.
