I Am Human is Escape The Fate’s sixth studio album and their most personal and best work to date! Opening with the absolute anthem that is Beautifully Tragic, we have a massive sing-a-long chorus, groovy riffs and thundering drums. This is a theme that continues through the record Broken Heart is an ode to a failed relationship. I Will Make It Up To You opens up with an underlying pop punk theme and progresses into an anthemic banger. Things mellow out with Bleed For Me, sure to cause some goosebumps and tears with frontman Craig Mabbitt bearing his soul through a powerful track that shows off his vocal ability.
Title track I Am Human is a huge, empowering track telling us that it’s okay to have flaws and we get a stripped back acoustic for If Only. The angst in the record appears in Recipe For Disaster and Riot, which sees the band head back to their heavier roots and take a full hard-rock spin respectively. Digging My Own Grave is the heaviest track on the record by far.
Throughout the record, we have tight vocals, insane guitar solos and pounding drums, creating a record that has something for everyone from the acoustics in album closer Let Me Be to the headbanging Resistance. Every track is an anthem in it’s own right and this is a strong contender for album of the year!
