Into the Abyss opens with an eerie instrumental which is both calming and unnerving at the same time, slowly building in intensity as some words are spoken over the top. It kicks into a more intense yet still eerie track around 1:10 before calming back down to the melodic sound from the start with clearer lyrics talking about sinking into the abyss.
Human has a good opening instrumentation before kicking into some lovely vocals from Christoph and screams intertwining at various points. It has a good breakdown.
Ultraviolet is a huge metalcore song and I love it! It has a catchy chorus, great blend of cleans and screams, fantastic drums throughout and a nice melody.
Throne of the Sunset also has a great breakdown.
We calm things down for Calamity, which starts as a more poppy track for the first verse before the drums and bass kick right in for the chorus. The chorus is insanely catchy, talking about going down to the depths of calamity and it’s a bit of an earworm!
Abyss Pt I is a well written record and I love it. I kept the review shorter than I planned because I didn’t just want to repeat myself with how much I love each track, but it is fantastic. Everything from the lyrics to the instrumentation, synths and delivery is just great!
