There’s been a bit of a gaping hole in London’s alternative nightlife following the end of Uprawr at Dingwalls but never fear as Rawkus has FINALLY branched out into the capital!
Rawkus is one of the UK’s biggest pop-punk/hardcore/metal/alternative nights and has been seen as along term collaborator with Download and Y Not festivals for awesome afterparties!
The London launch comes on Friday March 17 at The Lounge by Archway Tube, following a collaboration with event founder Mark Simcock and Inklings and former FVK band member Kier Kemp.
On the night there will be DJ sets from Kier and Davyd Winter-Bates of Bury Tomorrow, appearances from the Rawkus Girls, beer pong (because whats an alternative party without beer pong? In fact, what is any party without beer pong?), wicked giveaways and not to mention bargain drinks!
You can get tickets in advance for just £4 (linky here) or can pay on the door which will be £6 (although it is advised to get tickets in advance to avoid disappointment).
“I’m from a (very) small town in the Country. When I moved to London at 18 the first thing that struck me was how difficult it was to find your place in the scene. There was a lot going on and I was just a bumpkin with some rather outrageously rose-tinted glasses on (both metaphorically and physically). Fast-forward a few years and many many gins later, I feel like i’ve found my people and I want to give something back. So when Mark asked me to be involved I jumped at the chance to share my disproportionate love of Fall Out Boy and cheap drinks with everyone else. Lets Party!”
